Requesting help once again for my college English project about or our community.

Hey friends! Do you like Ghostbusters? Need something that is not election related? Take a moment to participate and in a survey that is a requirement for my latest English project. It won’t take long, your answers will not be shared, and I would greatly appreciate it. I need to prove I netted at least 15+ responses. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. This would mean a great deal to me. Our community has come through for each other many times before. Please, and thank you!

I’ve happily provided some feedback to your survey, but I did want to also provide some feedback on your survey structure. Some background, I’m in UX Research and I author a TON of surveys and other means of capturing user insights. Not to say my methods are perfect my any means, but I’ve learned some things over the years that I’d love to pass on to others!

First of all, whenever utilizing the Likert scale, ALWAYS use an odd numbered system (5 or 7), you need to provide a safe middle ground thus even numbered systems are not recommended. As well, I did notice some labeling inconsistencies with your survey (if I recall question #2 wasn’t consistent with the question). Building on the consistency feedback, keep your UI systems in-line - the “slider” answer felt off from the rest, decide on a click/tap/slider and go with it throughout. Lastly, it felt as though throughout your line of questions that you were trying to get a deep level of insight into the nature of sexism in response to GB16. In some ways I felt your line of questions were a bit biased, or leading. It’s a researchers responsibility to be as unbiased as possible (it always exists in our hypothesis/researcher bias), but you should be diligent in authoring your questions to not drive toward a response that confirms a presumed result.

Please take this feedback for what it’s worth, take it or leave it! Reach out if you have any questions! I hope for the sake of your research you get more than 15 responses, dont get me started on statistical significance

Thank you very very much on taking the time to do the survey! Thank you even more for your willingness to write back an analysis! My current major is Social Work. The survey is for my English 108 class which is supposed to be the research and analysis class. The goal was to pick a community we were familiar with, so I picked the Ghostheads! The first essay was just our general experience in the community we picked and why that’s significant to us. The next paper was to identify a controversial topic in the community, and then propose a method to fix it. The assignment is an 8 page paper with eight sources - two being academic, one interview, one survey, and the rest can be whatever. The clear answer here seemed to be the shades of sexism that people seem to have felt or agreed as a result of the reboot. So you are certainly correct that my 10 questions tend to lead that way. This survey was intended to sort of be a way to get our feet wet but we were not provided much in the way of guidance of strategy in the way to ask the questions. So I very much winged it. I appreciate your comments as I’ll be dealing with this much more as I go through my major.
