Just curious-- would anyone be interested in seeing IDW reprint some of the NOW Comics stuff in omnibus form, much like they do with older Transformers, GI Joe and Star Trek material? Maybe even some of the UK strips?

TPB = the only way to enjoy comics. Single issues are a pain to read in-a-row, if you have them bagged-and-boarded.
Make it happen WR… Make it happen!! Although, the UK strips are mostly fluff… I wouldn’t be too concerned with those. Titan put them out a while back and they weren’t all that popular. I’d like to see IDW put out the 88mph book everyone was supposed to get from that snake-oil salesman that ran that show.

Yeah, I took a look at some of them and they didn’t really grab me either. I love the NOW stuff though, and my poor old copies are in tatters, and I’ve lost a couple issues here and there. The production quality on those books were already really high for their time, and I think they’d really pop in a new high-end edition. For a reasonable price too. Some of the IDW omnibuses collect 12-16 issues of reprint material for around the $20 mark. Damned fine bargain if y’ask me.
I’d also love a TPB of Legion. I have all the issues, but TPB is just a nicer experience sometimes, and there’s certainly demand for the material.
The creative teams were fully paid for that series right? Or did he rip them off too? If so, that could lead to prohibitive problems in reprinting the series in any form.

Yeah, the NOW books were a ■■■■■■■■ of fun, and still are! I love looking back at the photos of the fans from then too. I think with the anniversary happening and the current release of RGB on DVD happening all around the world it’s a no-brainer. A slight color tweak here or there and it’d be perfect. The attention IDW has given their other retro reprints has been fantastic, and I think seeing RGB reprinted there would be a fan’s dream come true. It’d certainly help swing the spotlight back on the GB’s, which is never a bad thing 
Yeah, everyone got paid. I’d heard the final problem involving creative team members was settled a couple of years ago. Something to do with the colorist on the “Zeddemore Factor” one-shot that was eventually collected in the Titan TPB. I’m hoping I’ll be able to grab a couple more signatures for my “No-Ghost” incentive copy of #1.
Yes please, I love to have some tradepaper backs of RGB. Alot of the stories really made up for the not so great episodes of the later seasons of the cartoon. Also I think it is a real shame that “Tobin and the Maze of Time” never got a TPB like The Real Ghostbusters staring in Ghostbusters II did.
I’d be sure to buy it. I much prefer buying complete collections like that and then get single issues after reading that and feeling any single issues would be cool to have. I like having it as a full collection for the convenience and cost savings.
I’m going to say no only because it’s so easy to get back issues thus making a TPB pointless. Unless they can add something new to they mix (IE Valiant) in which case go right ahead!
Its not easy to find RGB back issues by me. I’d love the reprints.
I didn’t chime in on this before? For shame on myself…
I have all the Now issues (including the Slimer!s) but would buy this in a heartbeat, especially if they did some updating to the color work. Some of it was pretty good but other times it was a bit muddled and flat, and they seemed to have trouble on making Egon and Winston’s flight suit’s consistant from one issue to next; it wasn’t until the last year or so of the series they picked one color scheme and stuck with it. And Vigo looked awesome, but the colors were all wrong–his outfit is brown, thank you.
Lightly update all of that with the latest technology (Hey, Blond’s still available, right?) and it would knock everyone’s socks off.
If not Blond, then I’d see if they could steal Wilson Ramos Jr. from Marvel for a while. He’s one of the ones who do the color updates on some of Marvel’s spiffed up reprints (and a colleague, hence the name droppage).
Yes I would buy those in a heartbeat. Wonder why they haven’t thought of it. I just hope they do it chronologicaly and not one of those weird “best of” collections where they jump eight issues. I hate that. they did that with Transformers. It was tolerable but if they do that to RGB I’d be pissed. I’d still buy it though. Lol.

Regarding recoloring the original material, don’t get your hopes up. The costs of doing something like that tends to be more than what’s worth investing in reprints (though I agree it’d be awesome, and totally wish they’d do it for Transformers more than anything else).
