Ok I have been quickly obtaining and collecting every figure and accessory of the RGB toy line.
I have found myself with a different color proton stream proton pack for the slimed hero line that I can’t find anywhere to match which figure it belongs to.
theres 5 figures louis and the 4 main characters.
theres a dark green, light green, red, orange, and what looks like another orange according to figures still in the package on ebay.
but my set has all of the above except instead of a second orange i have YELLOW! with the purple proton pack.
but i cant find any slimed hero still in the package with a yellow stream.
i prefer a different color than 2 oranges but either this is a mistake from kenner or… they changed the colors early on and i have a rarer variation. but i still need to find out who originally came with the yellow version
and whats even weirder the two orange streams, one is lighter than the other, but theres no confusing a lite orange with yellow. i can clearly see the colors in any ebay auction
Between that and my own recollections it goes like this:
Egon has the orange beam, Ray is light green, Venkman is light orange/yellowish, Winston is dark green, and Louis is red. Egon and Venkman’s beams are different colors; that’s probably the yellow one.
Though for all I know, you’re right and there was some variation in the color over the run.
There was a variant of Ray, but it was in the color of his accessories:

but if you saw this proton stream i have, its pure yellow(not something faded to be yellow). just like the one used on one of the original 4 proton packs
And yea i knew about ray having either blue or red accessories which is pretty neat.
It could quite possibly be a fix-er-upper pack. Maybe there was a damaged stream, or no stream, so they had a spare Yellow Stream from the original Winston’s pack and swapped it so that it would be different, and technically a full pack.
oh its opened but in great condition, anything is possible but i dont see any damage where someone might have cracked it open but i never took one apart so i dont know how easy it is.
