I watched the classic 1988 Bill Murray film Scrooged this week on Netflix, it was my first time watching it. I really enjoyed it but I must say, Bill Murray’s narcissism really showed through in the film. It’s a great modern version of A Christmas Carol.

I’ve seen several of Murray’s films over the years. I remember bits and pieces of Scrooged from when I was younger, but that was the first time I actually full blown watched it. I really enjoyed it.
My #1 favorite Xmas movie or tv show episode, Mister Robinson’s Neighborhood close behind in second.
I LOVED this movie also. It’s probably one of the few movies that had a decent trailer and was hilarious.
Remember back when comedy channel first came out and it seemed like a mix of public access and comedy shows? They used to show clips of films between the commercials and shows, that, aside from clips on the late shows is where I first saw some of the hilarious parts the movie.
A great movie and a must watch every year around Christmas for me. I can never get enough of the classics with Bill, or Harold, or Dan. What about Bob, Stripes, Caddyshack, and The Great Outdoors were others that I loved growing up as well.
Classics are great.

I missed the Steelbook Blu-Ray in 2013 and wanted to get it last year but Walmart only had the DVD’s. Too bad there will never be special features because of something that happened between Murray and Donner.
I’ve seen Stripes, Groundhog Day, What About Bob?, Scrooged, Larger Than Life. You guys are gonna hate me for this, but I’ve never seen either Caddyshack or Meatballs.

It was not a happy time on that set.
But what a great movie.
All I can say after that is…Bill is a freaking masochist. Talk about suffering for the art.

You should see both of those. Meatballs had some sequels but none of hem had Bill Murray in them.
Even though it bombed in the theater I always like “the man who knew too little”

Me too! This is one of my favorite Christmas movies next to Jingle All The Way (1996), It’s A Wonderful Life (1946).
As for Christmas television specials/ television episodes The Real Ghostbusters “Xmas Marks The Spot” is my all time favorite followed by A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), and A Garfield Christmas Special (1987).
That one is my dad’s favourite.
