Funny to think that the plastic frame on Matty’s Goggles will almost certainly be stronger than the frame of a genuine set of PVS-5 night vision goggles, doesn’t happen very often that a toy company outdoes military surplus.
It’s gotta be sound synched. This would explain why the sound is so off of the actual movie and game sound effects. They needed something easily detectable by future devices. The PKE sounds a lot like a weak smoke alarm.
It’s probably just viewing the LEDs on the wings like a wiimote.

Yeah, I kinda figured the beeps would be the sync guide. Sound sensativity seems more in line with their projected $60 price point too. Dang.
Sweet. The animation sounds interesting. That’s going to be some awfully close viewing inside the goggles. This was the one piece of equipment I really felt I was missing (the welding goggles I had, just weren’t cutting it.)
Honestly, I would be a little miffed, but I wouldn’t be one of those to backlash. It’s a minor extra. I’d be more concerned with how they look, TBH. Plus, the only way to correct the error, would be to send PKE’s back in, and I don’t want to do that with mine.
Really? You don’t want a pack? I can see not being surprized that it’s not the pack, but being “SO glad”?
I guess if you mean for monetary reasons, I can understand.
Personally, I’m glad they’re doing a prop, but I’m not sure about the goggles. They’ve never been the thing that screams “Ghostbusters” to me unlike things like the PKE, Trap, and Pack. The description of the animation sounds interesting, but I’d like to see some pictures/video to get a better idea of what we’re in for.
Hey Matty - if you read this, if you can’t get the dancing slimer on the inside to work, I STILL WANT IT. Whack a few bucks off the top and sell it to me!
My wishful thinking is hoping that down the line, the proton pack is released, which also syncs animations of a proton stream through the goggles when the wand is fired. A man can (wet) dream.
