Should Walter Peck return?

Ive been thinking that he should have some kind of role in GB3. One idea i had was that since the GB’s are going to batte Hades, he could be the one who brings Hades into New York.

(Hades or Satan, one of the two. Hence “Ghostbusters in Hell” working name)

Nah, I think Peck should stay out. He didn’t even have that decent of a roll in the game. I can’t see…25+ years later him still being in the EPA… :vinzclortho:

No. Not unless you can make it really worth it, and not just a Walter Peck appearance solely for the sake of a Walter Peck appearance.

no, lets bring in a new annoying character

I know! I know! Reveal that Walter Peck was working with Gozer all along!! Yeah that’s the ticket! :walterpeck:

What if Peck becomes this crazy loon still trying to undo the Ghostbusters? Fired from the EPA, but still out to fight.

Like maybe he’s even all bushly and possibly homeless or a complete wreck who somehow blaims his career and life failure on the Ghostbusters, so has no other agenda accept to go after them.

I always figured Peck would wind up working for the Post Office.

Dunno why.

I like what they did with Jack Hardemeyer in the Tokyopop Ghostbusters comic, showing him as a failure after the events of Ghostbsusters 2, jobless and going between soup kitchens, all the time cursing the names of the Ghostbusters, eventually scheming against them.

I could see them expanding on this in GB3, either with Hardemeyer or Peck. They’re basically the same guy.

Haha, you’re not familiar with government jobs, are you?

I dont think they should. He was alright for the first movie and a good plot tool for the video game but I dot think he should return unless they make it worth it.

Its hard to get rid of that peck!

Even in the game, he said it isn’t the last we’ll see of him.

Since when is Ghostbusters in Hell the working title?

I thought they were straying away from the Hellbent script…at least I hope they are.

If they’re going with hellebtn or not I’m not entirely sure. However Aykroyd has already mentioned in passing his cross dimensional traveling idea for this film which was a MAJOR plot point to Hellbent, creating a device that would allow you to slip from one world to the other or from our plane to Hell. I imagine the script WILL take point from Aykroyd’s draft, however with new writters and some fresh mids we wont get the same story at all.

I say most definitely NOT. I feel like his presence was tacked on for the game, and doing it for the next film would be even worse.

it’d be nice to see him with a really minor role. maybe he’s a complete nut-bag now, with a belief in the paranormal, warning new yorkers of the second coming of stay puft.

third coming.

i’m not including video game as movie cannon.

I liked the Pecker in the game. Besides, if they keep the game in canon wouldn’t P-COC still be around?

Or vice verse, as he’s a leading EPA-bureaucrat, Peck eventually becomes the first Green-Party-Member being elected major of New York City – which is of course celebrated like a second landing on the moon by his comrades – and (ab)uses his new powers to finally crush his Nemesis.

His supporters in this case would also provide a base for spoofs, especially as the CP-USA is used to support the Greens. Imagine Venkman arguing with an absolutely over-weighted commie, who rejects the existence of ghosts by usage of Marx’s Opium-theory (“Faith into the supernatural is the Opium of the depressive.”). - But that’s maybe a too bit specialized humor. :walterpeck:
