should we rescue this car and make it an ecto?

well I got to see this car from someone on the boards here. we met up and he showed me the car he was thinking of making an ecto out of for Mississippi. I only have 3 pics of it, but it does need work if we were to get it. That and it is $1,000 to get it. We both are a bit strapped on money, but if we can we are thinking of saving up for getting it and fixing it up. Granted it doesn’t have the fins or anything, but the inside is in really good condition. It does need a new battery, some new tires, one part fixed on the side, maybe take the black back off and add a back roof, take out the curtains, and so on..

So anyone have any suggestions on if we should try for it or do you think it would be too much money to get it and fix?

I’d pass

I’d make it a creepy daily driver, not an ecto.

You could start a delivery service of cream pies… And show up at nursing homes in that funky smelling hearse LOL

I think if you like it get it.

If you did it with a more personal touch and not a straight ecto replica it would look nice

well we would have our own touch to it. that is if we can get the money together for getting it. Then fixing it up before adding the details. It was just a thought meand my friend were thinking of doing if we ever got the money for it.

If you can barely afford the base car then you probably can’t afford the restoration and conversion, and that’s the part that determines the quality it will be in the end.

I agree. I pass on this.

“It just seems a little pricey for a unique fixer-upper opportunity.” :sigh:

your probably right. right now i am between jobs and really don’t have the funds anyways. It was like a “I wish” type thing to make an ecto out of it. i was also looking around at other vehicles that could be possible. so many options to chose from.
