No one will ever be happy, even if the government approached the things the GOP wants them to, you would just bitch even more. That is clear enough when you cry foul just because the government is working with those who make recommended guidelines for cancer screenings, suddenly the government is infringing on your doctorās decisions concerning your health. Tort reform and educating the public and the children about healthy food and exercise is just a red herring; as soon as the administration works towards those two goals it will be āWhy does the government have the right to decide if I can sue for malpractice?ā and āI donāt want the government teaching my kids how to behave!ā. No one will ever be happy, there will never be anything but lose-lose. Itās sad to say that youāre all a bunch of lunatics and you certainty would have deserved living in that hellhole of America you were trying to create for yourselves, deluded into thinking it was paradise. If only I could have deluded myself.

Itās been a strange year. Iāve learned a lot about how broken the U.S. health care system (or lack thereof) is and Iāve learned a lot about just how libertarian some Americans are with regard to āthe choice as to whether or not to be insured for health care.ā To an Acadian like me, and the rest of the western world, it seems painfully obvious how ludicrous that choice is. This bill is a horrible compromise to big business and conservative Democrats; it even had everything but the kitchen sink for Republicans-- but not a single Republican in the House voted for it. Hereās to you, you poor, filthy, malnourished and diseased, poverty-stricken Americans: you will not die in the streets any longer (starting in 2014).

Actually, over here the overall impression is that it is about time that the US received a decent health care system. And although that is my point of view, right now Iām just stating an observation of what they say about it on Dutch televisionā¦
