So while I was at work...

So. Almost all of us have jobs. Do tell some of your annoyances, your stories of stupidity or hilarity…crap like that.

Working at a certain video game store that everyone loves to hate; I’ve got plenty of annoyances - but one that stands out the most. THE ABSOLUTE MOST…is when someone comes into my store and goes…

“Where’s your P3 games at?”

P.

AGH. IT’S PS3. PS3. IT SAYS IT; RIGHT ON THE FUCKING SYSTEM. FUCKIN’ HELL.

Anyway.

Share.

I drive a truck and I’m constantly getting flipped off by punk ass kids! O and the f***ing bums that hang out under the overpasses in south Dallas that throw wine bottles at my truck all the time because I have a Confederate flag summer grill cover!

This was back in 2002, but I had a very senior person who went away on business travel and left a piece of paper taped on his monitor that read:

“DO NOT TURN OFF COMPUTER. RECEIVING E-MAILS.”

I guess he’d be afraid that he wouldn’t get his e-mails in Outlook if his workstation was turned off.

I hate it when my boss tells me to clean my room and I’m all like “you’re not the boss of me Mom. I’m gonna move out one day!”

I had to interview Al Sharpton one time. There were 6 media outlets on hand. Before we started Sharpton said he would only let the newspaper reporters ask the questions and there would be only 3 questions. After that was over he demanded that we play the video back for him so he could “make sure we made him look good” I refused and walked away.

There’s my man Chace! AL’s a ass…

Ha! i work for same game store, my favorite is

“yall got dat ma-en o-11”

It’s Madden not Ma-en

I halso have heard " wheres the box games at?" in referance to xbox 360. When I hear that i tell them there are box games everywhere since all games come in a box, then i play stupid when they say 360 or x-box.

and i really dont want to get started on the FT job…

Y’ALL GOT THAT HAHLOW AHDSST!?

He wanted Halo 3: ODST.

He thought ODST was a word; not an acronym.

My last job ( I was an in-store technician for Verizon. Think Verizon Geek Squad) was an endless parade of stupid. Not that it was beyond the amount of stupid that what you would expect in a retail store. However my least favorite night is when this crazy homeless guy came in a naughty schoolgirl uniform. Imagine Harry Dean Stanton in drag. As funny a it is now, I was praying that I would not be the guy that had to help him.

My new job is much nicer and a lot less stressful. Glad I got out.

I work I EMS. I have way to many stupid people stories.

Last night I had a 52 year old male die from huffing dustergas, good times.

I completely feel the stupid questions at the gamestore…

My “favorite” one was, "How much this’is? while looking at the box, which has a bright white price tag on the top right corner.

Just like how EVERY game box in the whole store, has a price tag on the top right corner…

I work in PC repair. It would take less time to tell you about the non-idiot customers I deal with.

It was the first month of my time at my current employ (a copying centre at a well-known chain), a student from the University across the road comes in to get his dissertation printed, as it’s hand-in day for it and he’s late.

There’s already a couple of customers ahead of him in the queue and we operate pretty strictly to a first come, first served policy. We inform him of this as we process the jobs that are ahead of his, but he has to enquire why we have so many machines and yet he has to wait. We explain that there’s only one computer that can send files to print.

He doesn’t seem to accept this, feeling the need to again remark about the number of machines we had, and try ask us if we can slip his job in between the ones we’re already working on. Understandably my colleague and I aren’t particularly fond of being told to inconvenience the customers we were working for for this person who can’t be patient.

My colleague pretty much refuses to serve him after that, and it eventually transpirts that the student is in danger of being kicked off of his course if he doesn’t get the dissertation handed in.

His continued pushing wears down my patience and I also make it clear I’m no longer interested in serving him due to his rudeness.

He then decides he wants to make an official complaint and takes down our names (although as there’s three Bens in the store, and most of the associate namebadges don’t have surnames, I’d like to know how he’d be able to specificy which “Ben” he wanted to complain about). He then leaves, but decides he wants to have a full-blown tantrum as he leaves, prompting me to explain that the store does not tollerate abuse of its staff, he then proceeds to swear physical violence against my colleague, and possibly me.

Understandably my colleague decided to contact the Police about it. In the end we decided to not press charges as thankfully all we’d received was verbal abuse.

As a part time employee with both Gamestop and Hot Topic, along with working production and security at a local club I have to say my run ins with annoying patrons and customers runs into the dozens on a daily basis.

Just this week we had an abonormally slow day at Hot Topic, I only rang up four people in my four hour shift. For two of those hours a girl stood there and talked at myself and the store ASM. I’m not how to accurately describe how annoying she was, but being that she was Navy I did tell her this,

“You know, you make a very compelling case for why women should not be permitted in the military.”

She annoyingly laughed and continued to talk for another hour.

I cut some drunk asshole out of his car last night.

Stay in school kids.

Unfortunately this did not hit the air.

That is the best thing I’ve seen all day!

you did? or the fire department did? Around here they do that.

We both do it.

Different places do different things.

Up here it all depends on where you are.

This is the work truck.

I work at a combo print shop/post office on a university campus…working with students sucks…and that goes double for the overflow Chinese students that our college caters to. The university practically wipes their asses for the walking dollar signs.

And students aside, having to stomach all the PC bullshit with diversity outreach…nothing like being reminded that you’re a terrible person for being of white-European descent on a daily basis.
