I really can’t believe that it took me this long to figure this out, but I found a cheap and almost, if not, accurate silver knob for the trap.

What do you think? At 7 bucks for a 2 pack, it’s a pretty decent alternative to having one machine made.

Not really.
The accurate ones are diamond knurled and have the indicator line on the side only. Here’s an accurate one in my mold box. I’m still talking to a distributor about getting these for a reasonable price. Real machined metal.
