I just got the spirit proton pack yesterday and i must say for the price its pretty awesome. I got it even cheaper with a coupon.
But the thing that bugs me the most the the lights not staying on. What im wanting to do in replace the cyclotron so they will keep rotating and also replace the power cell lights so they will chase. I plan on trying to redo the wand lights and add switches but that will be later down the road.
But i plan on keeping the sound that is already with the pack.
Since this will be my first time doing this im trying to figure out what ill need. Can i just buy the lights and power it with a separate power source or will i need the lights and sound board.
im also hoping that when it time comes i can easily add the wand lights as well.
The easiest approach you could take would be to install the more film-accurate set with a separate power supply in the shell (and looking at it there’s more than enough space to do that), and mount the new lights in the place of the existing ones.
You could keep the existing lights for the Cyclotron and Power Cell for added functionality, or you could cut them out and wire the loose ends together to preserve the circuit functionality for the sounds, and the lights in the Proton Gun.
Could a just use these and wire them in and use the sound that the pack already does? Then on the new lights just use a new switch i could mount on the pack?
Lol, thats funny man! Yeah I will do another video shortly. I think I have decided to actually make a motherboard for this thing. I still want access to the batteries though so what I am considering doing so the batteries can be changed quickly is cutting a rectangle out of the wood for the motherboard in that area. Since the motherboard will be painted black I am thinking to get some kind of black fabric or something for that area and use Velcro to make it hide the battery hole. From there I can mount my Alice pack frame I may do a video around that time and show the inside but in the meantime if you have any questions, I will try to answer them to the best of my ability!
