Would anyone be interested in a set of step by step PKE meter plans to help guide and build a decent prop of a PKE Meter. As I am buliding a pke meter prop at this time using the electronics kit from Hyperdyne labs I am documenting my build step by step with color photographs. I am considering selling the plans on ebay for $10 if anyone is interested reply to this thread.
I agree with everyone else here, plans to convert an Iona to a PKE meter would be fantastic, but you should share them rather than sell them. No one else who has ever made plans for a GB prop has ever (to my knowlege) sold the plans.
I have a bit of a solution to the pke dilema. How would you like an authentic Ghostbusters prop for only 45 bucks? The answer? Radioshack.com, look up sku 330-4050 or, a sound level meter. I just got one today (hooray for my employee discount) and it looks damn close to the meter Egon uses in GBII Affordable, functional too, put in a 9V and put the setting low, the needle will bounce with sounds around, making it look like you’re picking up something
Yeah, Ecto … that’d be neat … but I think I’ll start with making my PKE out of an Iona shell. Cause I already have that. If I ever decide to make a GBII costume, I’ll get the sound meter. For right now though I like the original no-ghost patch better ^.^ And the Lifeguards look awkward to wear on the belt.
Yeah me too on all of that, I just got my sound meter but I have a LONG way to go until my pke is finished. Besides the fact that the fanfilm takes part in the present day for GBJS, so I could use just about any one of the props used in the real films, as well as come up with my own. Long as you got the uniform and basics, you’re well recognized.
Is there possibly some way… someone could show what’s on that link, without using a link? EZboards refuses to let me log in, I have signed up with multiple accounts, and tried on various web browsers… nothign works. I must have the contents of that link! Seriously though… EZboards hates me… I dunno why.
The link shows an indepth tutorial on how to make a pke. It starts with RJ taking it out of the box. VERY detailed and free I might add. Better than $40 I think. Bummer about the account. I wish I could help but I have no idea how. Good luck to ya’ll!
Just thought I’d mention I FINALLY got the stupid ezboard to let me in… blasted thing. Sweeeeeet friggin’ tutorial, and I’m gonna get started soon as I get some bondo, styrene, a hobby knife, and w/e the hell I need to use to sand the parts down…
