Anyone know how abouts I could go about making some cheap stunt equipment. I need a pack that I can lay down on and slide around on the ground for stunts. Any onfo would be great as long as it pertains to my budget. Thanks a lot.
Hm…Foam would be the best to go with and it isn’t that expensive.
that is true, but you have to be a bit more careful with foam, because it can break and then you have to re-build that part of the pack.
Yeah…and last I checked it melts if you spray paint it…but I know how to fix that. I can go with foam…but I’m not sure about the construction…or if there’s a better way.
yeah foam does melt when you spray paint it, but you can do one two things. you can paper mache over the foam parts or duct tape the foam and then spray paint. I recommend the 2nd choice. unless the foam has plastic shrink wrapped around it when you buy it you have to duct tape it to paper mache it anyway. heres the url to the forum page where Dark Jedi talks about and shows some steps to building with foam. http://www.gbprops.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35
dude you should be able to make a foam pack pretty durable.. by making it outta foam core sheets.. its foam sheeting sandwiched between 2 sheets of posterboard.. cost about $2 a sheet.. you can buy it right at walmart in the schools supplies.. they have it in black with flack foam.. and if you want to spray paint it.. just brush elmers white glue over the foam and let dry then it paint fine.. I build Buiding for a Gaming store and those kids beat the crap outta them.. and htey hold up no prob.. all you do is temporally tack it with hotglue.. then put elmers in all the joints.. and its bullet proof..to clean up the joint you can always put colored posterboard over the corners..
You could try carving it out of thick open-cell foam (The kind they use in couch cushions and stuff) and then painting over it with liquid latex.

We use it at Disneyland and it seals foam to make it paintable.
