Hey all, so I’ve been working on a project over on the theecto1.com called the Ecto 1 Registry. Basically what it is is a database of ALL the 59 MM limo style Futura’s. You can take a look at what has been done so far. What I’m asking for from you guys is keep your eyes peeled. If you find one online or in person that is either Ecto-fied or in it’s original condition, please post it up here and I’ll add it over there (unless you’re already a member over there).
I’ve already taken all except one from here (I left darthpunk’s out out of respect for the nature of the pictures) and posted them over there so if you find pics while surfing the web, please double check to see if it’s already been posted. Clear as mud right? Alright, let’s get to crackin…ready, BREAK!
I love this idea. I’ve wanted something like an Ecto phonebook or ridespace kind of thing on this site for AGES (at least, something more comprehensive than the prop photo section).
Having a registry with names and facts and contact info would be wonderful.
Dibs on running the non-procar Registry (as if any of you wanted it).
So of the 16 that are currently listed (I know of at least 4 more off the top of my head), only a whopping 2 have not been Ecto-fied. Here’s a link to the thread: http://www.theecto1.com/forum/index.php?topic=960.0 So, considering there were allegedly only 88 limo style futura’s made, the survivability of (at least) 20 is pretty impressive!
Quite a few of those I pulled from the prop section here and in the picture section over there. I didn’t even bother doing a google search, but I’m trying to keep duplicate entries to a minimum. I think the one I’ll have the most problems with is gonna be the 3rd one down since there seems to be many different picture sets from that one. I think you should start the non-procar registry…that will be an immense task since there are so many out there. Have fun with that though, maybe one day we can actually have an EctoCon!
That would be a great idea and hopefully one day it could happen. The issue of course would be where since those of us with less-than-modern cars might have issues travelling long distances though. I know once I get mine I’d be more than willing to organize it, but that’s still a ways off.
How about you read post 5 Thanks for posting the link anyway Matt! Is anyone else getting the tripod logo for the new pics I added? That’s all I’m seeing…
