Hi guys, Mike here. This is probably a shot in the dark here, but remember the NECA Dancing Slimer? Roughly 10 inches tall or so, and it came with a contraption inside his body that allowed him to dance as it played the GB theme…
well, myself and The Real Oklahoma Ghostbusters have used one as a “mascot” for the last 7 years. Obviously with the electronics removed and just the base latex puppet. Well, during this year’s Halloween season, ours was stolen by an unknown individual and has still never been recovered.
As I’m finding out now…those things are virtually impossible to find now. I’m reaching out to see if anyone knows of where to find one, or if an individual here has one they’d like to part with? I’ve been learning that the contraption inside the puppet was prone to malfunctioning and not working shortly after purchasing. Well, we’re not looking for a functioning model…just the base puppet.
I remember the dancing Slimer. I never bought one though, I did however recently buy the huge 3 foot plush Slimer. It looks pretty cool. I live in Oklahoma too by the way. I didnt know we had an Oklahoma Ghostbusters, that is awesome. Do you have a facebook page for it, and where abouts are you located? I am in Okc.
Hi. You’re in OKC? That’s pretty cool! I’m sure you’ve seen the rest of the Oklahoma Ghostbusters out there. Kris, Raul, Jason, Mark, and my bad on the other names. Myself and my team closer to the Tulsa area have gone by the name, “The Real Oklahoma Ghostbusters.” Kind of a tip of the hat to the cartoon series…plus, we hear a lot that we’re pretty animated. lol
Back in 2008, I assembled Raul’s old 1960 high top Ecto 1 and cruised the N.E. Oklahoma area for nearly 5 years with her. Then we all parted with her and she went to a new family of Ghostbusters in Delaware I think it is. We recently finished up our 7th gig with the Tulsa Zoo for their week long annual HallowZooEen. Many of our videos from the past and present can be seen on my Youtube channel.

I use to visit GB fans a lot back in the day…but I ended up ruffling a few feathers with some people and wore out my welcome. Nothing was said or done out of malice…just wasn’t able to convey messages very well without offending people. I’m just a big kid living his dream though… I was trying to share info and things pertaining to Ghostbusters and ended up ■■■■■■■ off a few folks. I vanished from the boards for a while but never stopped Ghostbusting. In fact, my love of Ghostbusters as well as Dodge Magnums, and my impatience with going through two different Cadillac Ambulances convinced me to do a modern day Ecto. Affectionately dubbed…The Ecto 1E.
Our team kept kicking along and we love performing around the Tulsa area. I broke my silence with the boards here because I’m desperately trying to find another NECA Dancing Slimer. I don’t even care if it works. Just trying to find the silicone rubber Slimer that came with the kit.
