well…my 3 years aniversary is coming up with my fiance’, and i needed extra cash so i said to myself. “how can i make some extra money, and have fun dong it?” well i’ve come up with a plan. i’m going to start building a proton pack and sell it. now i’m not going to fully finish said pack just going to make a starter one for another fan and then they can finish it.
but i need to find some one to buy it. now the new rules to the GBFANS forum is that you cannot post on it unless you have supporting membership and ect. and i do not. so i hopping to weasel this in.
what he means is he cannot post a for sale thread in the for sale forum as there are certain requirements you must meet in order to post a thread in the that forum now, due to shady sellers in the past. Read the requirements here.
It is against the rules to sell anything in any forum other than the For Sale forum.
It’d have to be a pretty good starter pack if you plan to make money from it. And by that I mean better than Average Joe can do by himself at home. Otherwise it won’t be worth your effort, and your missus won’t be happy either if you only make $100 from it, lol.

well i have already bought the ring from zales it’s just a matter of my finishing payments. and it’s a little more than a starter pack now it has lights detail bumper ect. i have some pics i’ll be posting more today.
but i have 250$ left on the ring before i can just take her home without ever having to go back to sales house of horrors again. if you’ve never ring shopped it’s horrifying, they sit you down and act all nice to you and then demand several tousands of dollars. wtf.
but yea about the supporting membership thing i’ve been a member of the gbfans/props community since 2003 when it was gbprops. though my new account rayvenkman is only 3 yrs old my original name egonstantz (which i forgot the password to, and then the email i linked it to) has been with the site forever.
but if it’s true that you only need to meet 2 of the 3 req’s for posting in the forsale section i don’t know why i can’t, i think you DO NEED all 3 reqs. very sad for me ; (
Maybe you should have gone to Kay instead. I have been ring shopping, they do NOT demand several thousands of dollars from you. In fact, they don’t even demand you sit down and listen. The ring price is TOTALLY negotiable, and there are several payment options, usually. Even for myself, having terrible credit, I was able to get a $6000 line of credit at Kay. They don’t demand the money, atleast, not in the pressing way you made it sound. You can make small monthly payments that typically start around $70-$80, or you can pay more money, in order to reduce the balance faster. Also, some solitare rings start around $1000 (that’s SINGLE thousands of dollars), and yes go up to several thousand.
Also, before you say “The ring she wants is at Zales”, Zales and Kay, and some other chains, carry the same exact rings; even the “exclusive” Leo Diamond ring can be ordered from Helzberg and Kay, not just Zales as they would have you believe.
As for the “$250 left to pay before I can take it home”, bogus. I brought the ring home the day I purchased it, and I didn’t pay a penny for a whole month. Either you truely got hosed and don’t know anything about ring shopping (which is totally possible…we’re not supposed to be engrained with this knowledge from birth), or you’re trying to B.S. so you can try to sell that damn pack.

it’s cool dude, and you’re right you can take the ring home the day you sign the paper work, i chose not to cause 1, i have no where to hide it, 2 i thought it would be safer in their hands, and 3 i’d probably lose it.
but yea i bought a 3/4 ct. 14k white gold engagement ring. and been paying 85$ a month for the past year almost until i started trying to pay it off in full as of late. and i’m so close and seeing as i’m gonna give it to her sunday i’m paying it off etiher way so i figured i’d try to get rid of the stunt pack, but i’m now thinking i may just want to keep it and have 2 packs. i dunno either way is fine
and ps. ring shopping really isn’t as bad as i made it seem i was trying to be funny, some people get sarcasim and some just get made fun of, it’s hard to tell you’re joking over text. but yea ring shopping wasn’t bad at all they gave me a soda provided me lunch, and demanded thousands yes thousands of dollars over a some many year period.
No you didn’t upset me much . I, like most here, just didn’t appreciate the intended definace of the board’s rules, which are set in place the help everyone, not hinder. Sounds like a nice ring, and I totally understand the want to have it paid off before giving her the ring…I was there, too. If I’m correct, you should be able to just go pick it up now then, and give her the ring, and with payments of $85/month, you should have the remaining balance paid off within 3 months max.
I’ve just heard plenty of people complain about jewelry shopping, and alot of it is unfounded…mostly guys who don’t know how to haggle, or don’t know when they are being toyed with. Glad you picked out a nice ring, and hell…a couple more dyas and you’ll have a fiance! Congrats, man!
