the real ghostbusters of chicago northern group

if u are interasted in joining pls feel free to let me know

Really?

How many of these are you going to make.

Also, quit sending me friend requests.

yes. stop sending me friend requests on facebook too.

I think the niche for a Chicago GB group has already been taken. Not to say that you aren’t allowed to form a new group, but I think most of the ghostheads that exist in Illinois have coalesced into their own respective groups.

Furthermore, if you want people to join your group, you should really try to sell the idea. Typing a single poorly formed sentence riddled with spelling errors won’t do the trick. Write about the group and what you are trying to accomplish…In other words, why should people in the Chicago land area be a fan or member of your group.

Anyway, best of luck.

i see ur a rude person just like someone in the chicago gb dont worry about the freind request there wont be anymore :garrett:

yeah i know but im new at this and the chicago gb are rude and there leader sucks and chicago is a city and my group is the real chicago ghostbusters ok and im learning disable ok :angryvigo:

fine i’ll stop cause i know ur a jerk and a not a nice person like dan shannon get bent

Joshua you should read the recommended requirements for starting a franchise before you decide to undertake this project.

Joshua, Honestly no one will take you seriously if you don’t stop with the text speak.

I can see why you were treated poorly by the Chicago members if that is the attitude you approached them with.

Starting a group is no easy task, it takes hard work and dedication to getting it off the ground. It isn’t all fun and games, though the majority of the time it can be.

im sorry im a pest

I see your point.

Josh, your not a pest, there are simple procedures that it takes to get a group going. Start slow and not try to rush things, much like building your first proton pack. Dan started our group years ago and it has taken nearly six years for his baby to establish itself by gaining members, creating a reputation, aiding others in the community, etc. There is potential for you to get your group up and running. Its just going to take some time and a lot of patience. I would suggest getting a run of your own gear first and show the area what you have to offer. Second, look into events that you and your group could make a positive impact such as fund raisers, public events, charities, etc. Vincenzo330’s link is a perfect starting point. If you have not read it, I highly suggest it.

As far as a few selected members of the Chicago Division goes, they are not bad guys once you get to know them. We are all willing to help each other out, there is just a proper way to do it. If you need support or have inquiries, contact me directly and I am sure I can help you out.

Peace

The Chicago Division is in no way rude. We are actually a very fun group of people to be around, and its been expanding wonderfully. We all contribute to the Division in different ways and thats why we all work well together. Unfortunately at this time we simply aren’t enrolling members as we have 9 members.

joshua3681, you approached Dan by demanding you become a member in a rather rude fashion. We simply do not appreciate being told we have to add new members just because they want us to. All of us had to get to know the members, pay our dues, and then we were allowed to join. We respect that you want to be part of our group, but like mentioned before, we aren’t enrolling anyone at the moment, and we do not cater to demands. And starting another Chicago Ghostbusters group is not the way to gain anyone’s respect either.

I do think though, as a homage to the movie, and your hometown, go with the franchise of Camp Wauconda Ghostbusters, as Aykroyd referance’s that’s where he went as a kid while Stay Puft was coming to kill them. We noticed on facebook you do have your own friends and people willing to join so you shouldn’t have trouble starting your own franchise, we’d appreciate you just use another name for your group.

We had a similar incident with our Columbus group. At the time we had around 10 members and weren’t taking any new ones on. It’s our policy to keep a small, manageable group. Yes, I know that franchises are only franchises in a fictitious sense, but trying to start a new group with an almost identical name causes confusion and could ultimately impact the existing team negatively.

Think about this: You have an established, well known team, (Chicago Div., Arizona, So Cal,etc.) who are known for their charitable contributions and appearances. Then another team springs up in the same area, bearing an almost identical name. Not only would this cause confusion if both parties with different agendas try to secure appearances at the same events, but let’s say team B (the new team) exhibits disruptive and obnoxious behavior at the event. This could lead to a negative light cast on Team A by simple association and could possibly impact future appearances and damage the reputation of Team A.

When starting a new team, start small, build a reputation and flourish. Also put some thought into your group/franchise name. Don’t try to muscle in by making your name sound similar. I’m not saying you did that, but all the groups who put in the effort to get themselves known take pride in their teams and have worked hard to build them. Best course of action is to look around and see what teams are in your area, ask questions here on the boards and then name your team and start adding members.

Hope this sheds some light on the situation. Good Luck.

I was approached last week about joining this “new” franchise. As I suggest maybe you should work on getting your proton pack and gear in order first and not worry so much about getting custom t-shirts and patches made. As I explained I am always willing to help another fan build their props. I recently finished my first pack in October and enjoyed the few events I have done. I am meeting with another fan soon to try and help him start his pack building.

I have not met any of the members from the Chicago franchises but from what i know they are great people. I am friends with a few of them on facebook and I am looking forward to introducing myself to them. I know I was at a event in Chicago a few months ago and someone asked if I was part of the Ghostbusters group that was nearby. I’m sure it was one of the Chicago franchises but I got too busy to try and find out exactly where they were and introduce myself.

If your goal is to still build a franchise and your really serious about it start slow. Maybe try and get to know some of the members from the other Chicago groups. Being rude to other franchises members is not the way to go about it. I’m not say you were or weren’t since I don’t know what happened. I know I wouldn’t want to be a part of a franchise that is hated by other franchises. Maybe try to find some events you can show up in gear and get a feel for things.

Josh, Im gonna have to agree with the name thing for the simple fact you’re not actually in Chicago.

keoni, you are familiar with our group and that the members of the Chicago Division come from Joliet, Aurora, Bennsinville, Mundelin, and Chicago. We have been established for a good amount of years already and have built a reputation with a good image, and gained great respect from other franchises and members of this forum. We also have gained a small fan following here as well.

Our range spans this whole area

If Joshua had not approached us so disrespectfully with demands, he could have been under consideration to join. However, he is pursuing a more negative route, choosing to be rude and be impolite towards us and others, and attempting to for a counter attack-Chicago group.

We are the legitimate Ghostbuster: Chicago Division, anything else is an imitation. We have our own uniforms, created our own patches, make our own gear, write our own stories, have our own Ecto, and do what we must to help support the legacy of Ghostbusters in the Chicagoland Area.

Actually, no, I didnt know you had had members up north in Mundelin. I though you were just in the city and the true Chicago burbs. And for namesake, nor would I consider anything north of the Grove, or really the Heights’ for that matter, close enough to really be deemed as “Chicago”. So aside from the name intrusion, which can be enough of a basis on its own, the simple fact is he is too far north to even claim Chicago within the group’s name.

It’s okay, John, I’ll talk to him. lol
