This is my Real Ghostbusters Toy Trap converted into a movie one, the best I could.
It was really cool I just happened to be in a thrift store looking for combat boots and couldn’t find any for my halloween costume this year. They didn’t have a pair. As I was walking out of the store I glanced at the toy section and a RGB toy trap was just sitting there gleaming. I asked the clerk how much for it she said"$1.99. So I primed it painted it and added lights.
Here is a couple of pictures before its conversion…
Then I primed it and painted it black and silver.
The lights I added were 2 of them. On the red flashing light I used a light that kids use when they go trick or treating so they won’t get hurt it was $3, and a green kind of worm flashing light I found at Kroger. The light I found at Kroger wouldn’t fit inside like I wanted and low and behold I figured out how to take of the cover and all it was was fiberoptic green flashing wire. I think it turned out nicely.
Wow! That’s pretty impressive! The only thing I could suggest is taking the trap apart and painting the inside where you can still see blue around the trap door.
Other than that, I think you did a good job there! I like how the flashing light glows through the trap doors. Very kick arse!
Yes I agree We painted it, but the painters tape went up higher than I had thought. I’m traveling and just getting in town for halloween. Maybe I’ll fix it next year. It looks weird on the picture, but in person it almost looks like the blue came through wear and tear, if that makes any sense. I know I should probably change it, but I think it looks really cool in person. Maybe I will Maybe I won’t. Here is a pic where the blue kinda looks random
It’s called Design master 725 Black paint. You can get it at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby
No need to prime your foam on your pack. It doesn’t melt everything like regular spray paint. I did prime just the trap because of the plastic because I didn’t want it to chip and see blue.
