I have a chance to buy this shell, but am not sure on the quality of it, in terms of if it meets the correct dimensions. It measures 26 long, 14 wide, and 5 inches deep. Good idea coming here first. There are some notoriously bad dealers out there.
Not being a prop expert myself, I can’t offer much advice other than wait for some of the other posters here–the ones who are prop experts–to take a look.

I may be mistaken but that looks like a loveusmokey shell, which is a recast. You also want a fiberglass shell, not one that’s completely resin, as they’re heavy and brittle.
Also, those pegs would make it hard to use today’s standard parts without some heavy modifying.
Personally I’d avoid it.
I would prefer to buy the hero shell in the shop but sadly it is sold out. Any idea on how often they come in Stock?
You should be able to get one from the shop the first week in December. If you need it before then I can point you a few other places.
I am not in a huge hurry, but of course sooner is better. I have always wanted my own proton pack. Used to be video of a young darkantagony with the Kenner Real Ghostbusters on. I know the price and time needed to build one and i am on board all the way. I would appreciate alternatives to the gbfan shop.
If you hit the “For Sale” thread, you’ll see some options there. This is a SUPER busy time of the year per Halloween, so please keep that in mind

Buy Gbfans shell or Nick-a-tron, or any other of the great shells in the ‘for sale’ section.

Thank everyone for the input. This has helped tremendously. Being brand new to building a pack and extremely eager to start can leave major questions on where to start and what to trust. I can wait till December for the shell, and I can buy other smaller parts until then. Thanks again.
