We are going to be in pigeon forge and gatlinberg this weekend and i was wondering if anyone in the area knew of any noteworthy events going on. We wont be in gear…more tourist mode really but I figured it was worth asking.

I really enjoyed downtown Gatlinburg. You’ve got a lot of Ripley’s museums that are fun, plus there’s tons of cool shops 'round them parts. We hit up the Ripley’s Aquarium which I thought was cool. Chair lift is a neat/cheap ride too. Pigeon Forge has a butt ton of stuff as well. Just depends on if you want to enjoy stuff in a small town or a big town. Hit up a restaurant or tourist center and sort through their brochure stands. You’ll find something that interests ya.
Also, the traffic going through Pigeon Forge during the start and end of the weekend is bumper to bumper. Not sure where you’re staying, but we stayed in a cabin in Gatlinburg and drove through Pigeon Forge. We probably spent as much time stuck in traffic as we did driving to to the point where we got stuck in traffic.
Oh yeah i know all about the traffic. We come up here about 6 times a year. We have some friends that live in pigeon forge and owns a bar out towards sevierville. I just didn’t know if there would be events some of the TN GBs were into this weekend out that way. If there were we were gonna stop in and check it out. Not to crash mind you…just observe.
