Toy R Us to get exclusive Mini-mate sets. G-g-g-ghosts!

Diamond Select Toys, Art Asylum, and Toys R Us have announced the toy mega-chain will be offering a line of different 2-packs of exclusive Ghostbusters Mini-mates;

  • GB2 Winston with Terror Dog

  • Egon and Library Ghost

  • GB2 Venkman-in-court with Washinton Square Ghost

  • Slimed Venkman with Slimer

  • Mashmallow-covered Venkman and red-hot Stay-Puft

wonder how much theyre going to cost. i nvr got mini action figures before. usually 12"-6" ones.

awesome! The fact that they would even make a courtroom Venkman is sooo sweet. Like everyone else, I will have no money when this is all over.

These look cool. I do wonder though if there will be a GB2 Venkman other than the one at SDCC. They are giving us a GB2 Winston, but I’d want a full set in GB2 uniforms. Also not keen on the regular release slimer coming with slimed Peter. We’ll end up with doubles in our collections. I really like the red Stay Puft though. Really cool idea. So much cool Stay Puft merchandise coming out.

Edit: Also, the Marshmallow Peter, while cool, kind of ruins one of the best running gags of the first film. Peter was always getting slimed more than the others, but at the end he escaped being covered by Stay Puft guts. I always loved that gag. I’d rather a marshmallow covered Ray or Egon or Winston, especially Winston actually with his “I love this town!” pose. I suppose Peter is the more popular character so he gets more variants.

Is it me or would it be insanely cool to have Stay Puft as a mega block figure like this 400% scaled Kubrick Batman?

We could get the other guys in these uniforms. After all, this is listed as being the first wave of minimates.

Slimer isn’t coming in either of the 4-packs though. The only doubles we’re getting here is the Terror Dog and Egon.

The marshmallow covered GB is Ray, the original description was a typo.

I can’t wait to get this stuff. I love that GB2 Winston doesn’t have the 'stache. :cool:

Oh damn you are right, the name tag says Stantz. Well thats good then.

As for Peter, with him in the GB2 uniform being a SDCC exclusive I wonder if they will be allowed to release him any other way. You know how collectors are. There will be riots. And I am pretty sure Slimer is in the next pack of 5 figures with Ray, Winston, Stay Puft, Slimer, and Gozer.

so… the closest Toys R Us is at least 75 miles away and guess what, GB Minimates arent going to be available online. :frowning: man I hate living in the middle of freaking nowhere

Not available online? That’s ridiculous. EVERYTHING is available online! You could always try eBay or buy from someone on the boards. I’ve got a Toys R Us near me, though it’s not too good on keeping the shelves stocked or getting stuff out on time.

Yeah I cant wait for these all to come out. I kinda stop collecting figures but when I heard mattel and diamond were putting figures out, I said I gotta have them, lol. the minimates I’ll proably just buy from ebay or online from some other specialty store.

not sure if ill have enough for the mini-mates, but definitely going to check them out. want the mattel 12" action figures first. i still collect action figures somewhat. stopped not long ago because frankly theres nothing i really wanted badly, but the GB 12" figures i want. if i cant have a repulica proton pack, i can at least have the GB figures.

I’m going to buy them at the Toys R Us in in Time Square…if they have it. I am going to love my Summer Vacation with the Ghostbusters. I’m going to write stories at deviantart.com, playing with the minimates, watch the movies, play the videogames, get the diecast Ecto-1(wtih the wheels that move), eat marshmallows, etc. Summer '09=Ghostbusters '09.

The closest TRU to me is about 45 minutes away. If anyone would be so kind to grab me one of each of these sets when they come out, I would be eternally grateful (I’d pay cost + a finder’s fee).

saw the marvel ones in toys r us tonight for the wolverine movie there kinda odd looking, not sure if i like them, but i digress because i WILL end up buying all of them anyway ! just cant pass it up ! :sigh:

The ToysRUs website has been updated. There is now a second wave of exclusives due out in September!! Also - you can now pre-order all of the exclusives direct from the website. Good news.
