Thanks! My girlfriend paid about $20 each for them, many years ago for me for Christmas. I have no clue why I never opened them actually, I didn’t open the NECA Slimer either come to think of it. Probably cause they looked so cool in the package.
I still don’t own the NECA Gozer, but thankfully the price isn’t as inflated on that one just yet.
yeah the NECA figures were each about $20 when they first came out, but have become rare. I got the Slimer and Stay-Puft, but pased on the Gozer and Terror Dogs, which was a mistake. unfortunately the left hand of my Slimer broke off between then and now and became lost, and my stay-puft is all scuffed up with black marks. I picked up a mib Gozer on ebay last week for $40 since I found out that Mattel wasnt making a Gozer figure (yet) I thought thats what the exclusive was going to be at SDCC since the GB figures were posed on a rooftop set shooting at an empty spot. I’d love to get the terror dogs too but I cant justify spending $100-200 on them.
I once passed on buying the NECA Stay puft when I saw it in a store here in Atlanta. I never got around to ordering it & now it’s also price inflated, so I feel ya there. While I am happy that Ghostbusters collecting is getting attention, I am slightly disgusted by the dealers who ■■■■■■ the stuff up and sell it for mega-profit on sites like eBay, making it harder for us to find something as simple as a Hotwheels Ecto-1 in store. But what can ya do?
Definitely can’t fault you for the decision. They were meant to be opened. If I were to get a larger display area I would open mine as well. A rooftop scene like the one at ComiCon 2010 would be my dream come true!
Reorganizing one of my shelves now that Winston is here.. Need to dig through storage and find another No-Ghosts logo from one of my 6" boxes for the base. I haven’t opened up 6" “Ready to Believe you” Ray yet.
