Hi guys, I am trying to put together my first Ghostbusters uniform and had a few questions.

These are probably really basic common sense questions that I should already know, but I don’t want to screw this up so I figure I’d ask just to make sure.

Arm Patch: Is there an exact spot on the arm where no ghost patch should go? Maybe I should try on the suit with elbow pads before deciding where to sew it?

Belt Gizmo Holster: I’ve looked for a tape measure holster at hardware stores and can only seem to find a tan colored version. Is there another option out there for a Gizmo holster, if not what is the best way to color the tan colored tape holster black?

Rubber Hose Connector: How do I know which exact spot on the left leg to sew the rubber connector on? Or does it not really matter at all? (As long as it’s on the left leg)

Elbow Pads: I picked up the Pro Series from Canon Sports, what is the BEST way to dye that particular brand? Black Fabric Paint?

I know there is a thread on elbow pads, but as I read it some people were talking about dying Judo pads, Century, Defender, etc…

All were helpful but but I wasn’t sure about how to dye the Pro Series ones from Canon Sports. I read somewhere Fabric Paint, but I could only find black at my store.

I don’t want the pads to turn black, so do I dilute the dye to make gray?

Pistol Belt: I already have the pistol belt khaki/light gray pistol belt sold here at the GBFans shop. However I have come across another one at my local surplus store (both pictured below).

The one I already have (GBStore version) seems to be screen accurate but the belt is thinner. The one also pictured below at my surplus store seems really think and may hold my accessories better. Although It;s probably not screen accurate for a GB1 suit.

What is the better option, is it frowned upon if I get the darker gray thicker pistol belt?

This is like the pistol belt at my surplus store except imagine it a really darker gray, not gray silver as shown.

For some reason I can’t find any pics online of the dark gray belt I saw at the surplus shop.

No, it is not screen accurate but I like it because it doesn’t bunch up and it doesn’t stretch over time. One thing to keep in mind is that the buckles are HUUUUUGE so you may need to modify some of your accessories just to get them on the belt. I had to dremel the openings on my trap holder significantly to be able to wear it.

Thanks for the info on the belt, I may go pick it up the next time I go to the store.

I REALLY like your game version flashlight & raidio on your pack strap.

What kind of holsters are you using for those? I can’t even tell how the flashlight is hanging on. Are you just using the flashlight clip straight to the alice pack strap?

There’s a bit of a lead time on them but it’s worth the wait.

Arm Patch

The arm patch seems to sit about 2" below the shoulder seam.

Belt Gizmo Holster

Use black leather dye (available at Tandy Leather) on a tan tape measure holder in order to get the desired color.

Rubber Hose Connector

The hose connector sits about even with the bottom crotch zipper of the flight suit, and slightly past the vertical slash pocket on the leg.

Also there is a Tandy leather shop pretty close to me, I will stop by there later on today to get the black leather dye for my tan measuring tape holster.

Also thanks for pointing out the acurate measurments for the patch & leg hose.

This helps me out a lot, much appreciated GB friends.

Now I just need to confirm about dyeing the canon sports knee pads in black fabric paint.

Looks like a fun busy wekeend coming up!
