Use a Tactical Thigh Rig/Panel to carry a Ghost Trap

image

What I am wondering is if the Tactical Thigh Rig Panel can carry the weigh without making it too comfortable and yet make it a little more user friendly as the trap wouldnt set so high and redistribute the weight more effectively.

AAAAAnnnnddd once again I cant get a photo to show up. Oh well.

Perhaps by placing a V hook directly on the panel with rivets or something similiar, this would allow the user to carry the trap in a low rider/low slung position.

You have to upload the photo to a hosting service. Then supply the Internet link to the photo between the IMG tags. Not the location of the photo on your C drive.

I don’t want to hijack but sounds like you want something kinda like this GBFans.com

Not quite, doesnt that bang and bump your thigh a lot? I usta have to wear a gas mask that way and it liked to rub my leg raw. The Tactical Thigh Rigs actually go around the thigh and prevent chaffing cuz it stops movement.

Thanks though, the photos on you link looked good.

Thigh holsters aren’t bad… They take up less room on the pistol belt, they free up your back and side for more movement while wearing a pack, and they can bring a lot more attention to your trap.

That said, they CAN be annoying.

The weight distributes fairly well, but you will notice your belt slipping down after a while. It’s especially annoying when you realise that you have to hike up your belt AND leg strap as well as tighten that same strap everytime it happens.

Your movement (depending on what you’re doing) can also be restricted. Granted, Ghostbusters aren’t known for being very agile, but you will hate running while the trap pedal flails wildly around. The trap and pedal move A LOT less when they’re on your side. In fact, walking CAN be rather troublesome depending on how you have things set up. No matter what, there’ll always be some awkward flopping with the trap attached like that.

Basically, I love the look of the tactical holsters, and I love seeing them on uniforms. It just isn’t the most convenient thing to wear. Personally, I prefer wearing a V-Hook leather holster on the belt. (That has its own shortcomings, but that’s for another thread.)

I recomend at least trying it once. To each, their own.

I use a thigh strap so it keeps it from moving a lot, and I guess I’m just lucky with the way my belt is adjusted, I really don’t have problems with it falling down or re tightening my leg strap during events.

From my experience in the Army I can tell you the more stuff you pack on a web belt the tighter it will have to be, unless you have big hips or something.

I guess you could use a set of suspenders, though that wouldnt be screen accurate. Maybe a vest, like you see D.A. and E.H. wear in GB2 with the slime throwers, I guess.
