so since i felt like such an ass by forgetting to take my uniform to dan aykroyds bottle signing in ottawa ontario and telling all the other gb’s who were in uniform and full gear that i forgot my suit, i figured i’d throw a pic up of me in my uniform poseing for a pic while scanning for any pke spikes. for now the patch is just an iron on until i am able to get a much better quality patch. still need to get a name tag (either made or ordered) and get a holster for my pke. so the search still continues for that. i’m in ontario canada so if anyone know’s of a good spot to check for any of these please leave me a reply. also is there anything i can buy at like walmart or home depot for the hose connecter for the uniform? looking for something i can get befor halloween. oh i also have a kenner ghost trap that i repainted so i am gonna mount that on my belt also. thanks for looking.

I grabbed the suggested 30ft tape measure from Sears, with a slight modification, to get the handle through for the PKE meter. Looks and wears great! It was around $8.00 USD or less.
Still looking for an easy Trap Holster…
The suit hose solution also vexes me…
thanks for the info and kind comment. i went to my local sears but they didn’t have any of the tape measure holders. so not sure if my store carries them or not. i will keep checking tho. got a bunch of black strapping material from some old pack packs and gonna see if the sis in law can make me up a holder for the pke. if it works out i will post some pics up.

One of our brothers on this site posted how he made a ghost trap holster out of pack straps and buckles, seriously giving me pause as I think it through..
Others have tried different methods/ tape measure holder types for PKE meters. I have seen the ones that are used to hold hammers..
My suit is similar, and I just got the patches from AJ Quick here on this site. My big hold ups are the suit hose and belt gizmos…
ya i haven’t been able to find any tape measure holders in any of my hardware stors around yet. i even checked out sears and nothing. all the tool belts these stores around here kinda suck. well just not what i need or want. i am gonna go check out a big army surplus roughly 2 hours from me to see if i can find something there. might get lucky cause thats where i found my suit. so here’s to carma hopefuly being on my side again. i’m just gonna go in with my pke and see if i can find something that it will fit in and look good. i’ll post pics if i can get something. i wonder how long it would take if i ordered patches from the shop here to get to me? i should try to find out sometime.
Nothing at a Rona/Revy/Lowes? I found a good nylon tape-measure holder at Revy, and an un-dyed leather one at Lowes. I bought the leather one, trimmed the hole so the PKE handle could go through, and hit it with some flat black paint. Looks pretty decent.

there isn’t a lowes around my area. just walmart, canadiantire, home depot rona and home hardware. still got to check home hardware but all others have nothing i could find.

You might want to check eBay. There are at least two sellers of PKE Meter holsters listed most of the time. The price is a bit higher than making your own, but this is the simple way to get a quick quality result.

i did check out mmm’s site. he has lots of very cool stuff. i did manage to get a pke meter holster made by my sis in law last night. it’s just made out of wide black straps from an old carry bag. she also made me a key fob. we made it out a a black dog leash from the dollar store. gonna get suited up and take some pics to post on here. still need to get the hose and hose connector for the suit. not exactly sure on how i am gonna do this yet. i can’t order off ebay cuz i don’t own a credit card. i did see a build thread on here where someone made the hose connector out of a rubber floor protector and some other odds and ends so might give that a try. thanks again to everyone for all the great advice and comments. i can’t thank yous enough.
The GBfans store does carry both the hose and hose connector though both are currently out of stock. Keep an eye on them.
And I know I check the selling forum almost daily just to see what goes up there. You never know when someone is going to be clearing their inventory out. Can’t go wrong there.
bit of an update. got some more stuff for my belt. got a holster for my pke meter. sis in law made it for me. it’s made from black material off of a carry case/bag. single strup of material with a loop at the top for the belt, then a bigger loop to go around the main part of the meter then a smaller loop at the bottom for the handle to go through. actually fit’s and holds the meter really good. made a key fob. i think thats what ppl are calling them. i’m gonna put a key ring at the end of my wand handle to be able to connect to the clip. the trap holder is still temperary. it’s a work in progress. and i’m currently working on making some kinda belt gizmo. all i have at the moment are old computer cards so i’m gonna use a couple of them. oh and i also mounted my alice fram to one of the packs. anyways here are a few pics i thought i would share with yous.
i’m starting to look like a ghostbuster.
since my suit has been more updated as you can see from the pics, i was thinking about starting to wear it when i go out in public ( like when me and the wife go to walmart. the grocery store, ect.) starting the beginning of october. i was thinking about doing this just to get the word out about ghostbusters being in the city for halloween and to get the word out about the ecto. won’t be driving it around just yet cuz it’s not done.but very soon tho it will be done. but still thought i might get some attention when i wear the suit, also just wondering if anyone else wears their suit during october. if any of yous do please post and tell us your stories about suiting up and hitting the town.
LOL! Well, after the bell rang for the end of Tricker Treat 2 years ago, my Wifey, and Kiddos hit Meijer in costume. Ummm ya… stares… blank stares… until I turned the aisle, and started hearing someone whistle the theme to GB! 
I can’t remember if that was the year I covered myself in Shaving creme (like I got hit with Stay Puft Marshmallow creme)!
Haven’t worn it pre Halloween yet, and the closer you get to The Night… the more people will “get it”.

the holster is great. can’t complain for a quick free holster. it does the job just fine. the bottom loop is just tight enough it won’t fall out and no one can just pull it out either. ya i’ve been thinking maybe start wearing the suit more near the middle of october. the car is going out on patrol as soon as it’s done. can’t wait to see how ppl react to it. i’m sure it’s gonna be a mixture of both good and bad. kinda interested to find out what the first incounter is gonna be like with the coppers also. should be interesting times ahead. oh ya funny thing happened tonight while me and the wife were leaving walmart. i had on my time lord tardis hoodie and as we walked past some girl she all of a sudden just spoke out saying bow ties are cool. i thought it was kinda neat and funny at the same time.

Great suggestions about the PKE Meter holsters. I’ve been struggling to figure that out myself. Was thinking about a drill “pistol” style holder but cutting the bottom out of the tape measure holder seems like a way better way to go.
Love the idea about shaving cream as well!

My PKE holster took about 5 minutes or less to carve out the bottom… it does have the Craftsman logo, which I will probably remove. I am VERY pleased with it… tho sounds like venky30 has a nice setup also…
As to the shaving creme… it was a blast… but a little cold… while we were waiting to get into a local mall. I also hit my kids with some… and of course they kept bumping into “butterflys” and Barney… which were then covered in shaving creme also, after awhile…

ya i’ll post some up tomorrow. i wanted to go with a holster like that one recently posted but was unable to find anything like that in my area. so that’s why i went the el’cheapo way. it also gives my pke meter slack when i’m sitting or depending on the way i am moving. but i do really like the idea of having a piece over the top of the meter for the extra added safety and security of the meter. i’m thinking of maybe adding two strips of Velcro to go over the top of the meter just for the safety and security purpose of the meter. but again thanks for the great compliments.
ok so i finally got around to taking some pics of my pke holster. like i said it isn’t much but for the price it does the job. anyways on with the pics.
like i said. it’s a very quick, easy, and cheap pke holster but it sure does the job.
