So I have all three of them and really like how they came out. One problem I’m having though is Egon and Ray are bending back at the boots as they are not a hard plastic like the rest of it, they are made of a soft like rubber. I’ve gone through the process of putting the boot area under hot water, reshaping them, then keeping them on ice for a day. It hold for a day or two then just goes back to how they were. I’ve surprised they made the boots the way they did considering the rest of it is a hard plastic. Peter stands just fine as there isn’t much of his boot to begin with.

anyone else have this problem with them or any ideas on a permanent solution?

They look cool, I don’t have them, but disappointed that there is no Winston

I saw somewhere that winston is coming at a later date if the line does well

I just posted on Vinyl Sugar’s facebook wall, who are the maker of these to see if they have any kinda of solution to this.

What about popping a nail (or something) into the bottom of the boot to give the rubber some support?

I haven’t quite embraced the look of vinyl idolz. Will definitely wait until the boot issue is resolved before jumping into the line.

Haha thanks, was back and forth on getting her at first but the more I looked at pictures of it the more I wanted it.

They haven’t responded at all so for now I just put them back in there boxes. Unless they come back with something soon what I’ll probably end up doing is drilling where the peg holes are at the bottom of there boots and put a small dowel up in them for support. I might see about making a new base for them also if I end up having to make the peg holes bigger since the base they come with is hollow underneath and plastic

What about some type of hot water bath that will soften the rubber so you can push them forward?

I’ve actually already tried that and it holds for maybe a day or so then it just happens again. I think the main reason why it does it is since the boots are made of rubber and the rest a hard plastic it’s a bit top heavy

I also have the 3 GB Vinyl Idolz and I too notice that Ray & Egon won’t stand up straight. I just emailed the company too (VinylSugar.com), hopefully they’ll address the situation. I also have the BTTF Doc Brown (Marty is backordered) and looks like that one can stand straight.

“shim” them in the back with a black piece of plastic or something that blends in with the bases / boots

Got bttf Marty and doc which have no issue whatsoever. Ps- some gamestop locations carry them now.

Bought the GB set and got them today in the mail. Haven’t taken out of the box yet as I’m scared to.
