Vitagegmr's pack build...

Hi all… For the last 5 months now i have been building my very own Proton Pack.

I Decided very early on that i wanted to build it from scratch. Try to buy as little parts as possible and make it from parts lying

around.

So from i started in february until now i have been working every free time i have had.

Now that i have a baby born a week ago, time is not on my side.

I am posting just some pictures to show you the progress.

Badabing Badaboom… Gotten this far… more photos to come…

I know it is not as esteticly appealing as a vacumformed or a fiberglass mold, but it got it’s charm.

Looks better than some other scratch builds I’ve seen. Not bad at all!

You sir are braver than I! I’m barley able to build one using all purchased parts, good job you did!

First and foremost, congratulations on your new baby! I’m not a father myself, but my dad is and he is extremely proud!

Secondly, you are doing an excellent job. There’s nothing better than good scratch build, especially using found parts. Keep it up and keep us posted.

Hehe… I bet he is… i bet he is… hehe…

Thanks guys. I really appriciate your feedback. This build has taken way longer than i thought it would, but then again i am super happy with the result.

I have the last couple of weeks gotten a few more things done and i am beginning to see the end.

I have gotten all the parts mounted on the motherboard (the motherboard is a huge sheet of 6 mm plastic used for vacum forming). I got this for free and cut it out in the right size,

Also a VintageGmr build funfact. The cooling ribs on the Gunmount and the gearbox, is actually sanded down “folding rule”

Now i need to get the bumper on…

Since i am as happy about my build as i can be, a few days ago i ordered light and sound from the gbfans shop. Cant wait to get it all installed.

Always so impressed with these types of builds! Awesome job
