Hey Guys! First off i’m going to just say it, I’m a noob. Well not really i’ve been coming to this site for almost 2 years. I’ve finished my p.p. finally!! It looks awesome.I’ve finshed everything except the uniform. I live here in dallas tx. (say what!) and I was wondering, does anyone who’s on here know where i can get a flight suit or coveralls locally? Come on someone help me pleeeeease. Oh, and maybe some patches. And the belt. Excuse my grammatical error. ![]()
Your local thrift store* or army surplus outlet.
- Likely to be rarer of course.
use the search function..not being a jerk about it, but i posted something about a website i found that had good flight suits a while back, just dont remember where it was right now…
well there is flightsuits.com
i think thats the name…and if i recall right i think that company made the suits for the second movie…
UPDATE: I found a surplus store here, finally, and i was wondering what size i should get? I’m about 6’1" 250lbs. I’m guessing 3xl to have it a bit roomy
just make sure you’ve got a bunch of room. the suits were generally baggy in the movies. ALSO: how much is your surplus store charging, because ours in Hawaii charges up to 200 bucks. What i did was go to the store, figure out my size and bought one on ebay…saved myself 170 dollars. BIG difference.
Yea, I made that mistake with the size. I got a size that is just a little small. I went with the dark navy blue flight suit. I just wanted to be different. it looks great with the no ghost 2 logo and the name patches on it. It only cost me $35.00 new at my local army/navy store.
they go for about 32 bucks. That’s a pretty sweet deal. I’ll probably go there tomorrow to try to find the right size for me. I wont be able to afford it yet until I get paid next week :(. Also, I wont be able to afford the boots this year so I’m planning to use some rain boots. No one but me and you guys will know the difference.
I got mine on ebay. I think it was $15 plus shipping, and I got the ALICE pack frame and straps there, too. They have a size chart, and they not only have S,M.L but leg and chest sizes (which means custom fit, but reasonable price!)

this place has good prices and service, and has lots of odds and ends. My local Army surplus store has the ALICE frame, but you have to buy the whole pack $90. He has just the aluminum frame, and you can pick different straps. He has misc items you can mess around with, too. Good luck!
PS if you want cheap outfits, go to GSS.com. They have white tyvek suits that you can tape/glue stuff on for about a $1 plus a few bucks shipping. We’re using one for my son so it’s not too heavy, and finding a 3 1/2 foot tall flight suit would be hard..
For those that have purchased from armysurplussforless.com, what version flight suit did you purchase? There is the Air Force style flight suit, the deluxe air force style flight suit, as well as the Nomex flight suit. The pictures included with each are not very detailed, so it’s hard for me to tell which one would be closest as far as authenticity goes.
By the way, I had recently ordered a suit from octoventinc via ebay. I just received it today and it’s got the most horrible stench I’ve ever experienced. I doubt if washing it will help. So now I have to buy a new one, hopefully to have better luck. Just keep an eye out for that seller… and be warned. Maybe this was just a fluke, but god, it’s horrible.
I bought & recieved my Flightsuit last wk which i got from Armysurplusforless & it is a very good likeness to the costumes from the movies & i would recomend these for a good quick delivery, the suit was the deluxe version CWU 27/P
Hope this helps u
I got mine from Georgia Outfitters. I’m wearing it right now!
I just ordered a suit from octoventinc myself. It came in yesterday, and with the exception of the velcro on the shoulders (which was easily removed with a seam ripper) it was perfect. No stench or anything. Since it seems they’re all used uniforms,it’s probably just hit or miss on how smelly the original owner was ! ![]()
