Where does the gun mount go on the gun itself?

I’m looking at the various plans, but I don’t see where the gun’s mounting hardware goes.. it looks like it might be the front of the gunbox bottom?

There is a drawing of the base, no measurements but you can eyeball it

Thanks.. Might have to abandon the wooden box in favor of a foam box instead. It’ll create some problems attaching buttons n such, but assembling the box from the parts n available plans just seems like a LOT more work.
