I’m not sure there’s much to say here except “Hi. I’m a new member here just getting started with building GB props.”
I just posted up a thread in the proton pack forum about my current rush build. I had committed to being a Ghostbuster for Halloween before giving much thought to what I was really committing to.
I realized about 6 months ago that none of my kids (ages 1, 3, 5 & 7) had even heard of Ghostbusters, much less seen the movies. So in attempt at good fatherhood, I dutifully rented both and we watched them and spend days afterward listening to the theme song over and over until my 3 & 5 year-olds were singing it constantly and annoying their older sister with it.
That led to choosing Ghostbusters for Halloween with enough time to plan ahead… if I had used it wisely.
The current plan is that my two older boys (3 & 5) are going to wear the lame-ass Ruby’s costumes with the blow-up packs (I know… I hang my head in shame for not getting it together sooner to get them decent costumes; maybe next year). But my costume is going to hopefully be fairy legit. It will at least be hard-won. My wife will be attempting a Zuul getup from a loose flowy red dress I picked up yesterday at the thrift store. My daughter (the oldest) didn’t really want to the GB thing after hearing the song about 100 times too many and finding the whole thing not girly enough for her tastes, so she’s going as a mermaid.
Anyway, I should have that thread up in the pack forum (assuming it gets approved) and would appreciate any critiques or tips anyone can offer.
