Who's Proton Pack is this?

On this page listed above, who owns this Proton Pack? I’d like to find out exactly how it was painted black. Because I think it’s the best pack I’ve seen. (In my opinion) And I’d like to know who painted it and how they did it.

I’ve noticed that some people have a real sheen, a glossy black paintjob on their Proton Packs. Which is fine if they like them that way. For me, I’d like the flat paint look of the proton pack from that link.

Just thought we could talk about who’s pack that is (or was) and talk about painting them and the best tips for what to do and not do when painting your pack.

Thanks for the help,

That pack was made by gbfans member playskool2000. Getting in touch with him seems rather hard these days though.

One of the classics. Did he just disappear or something?

Yeah this one if my favorite pack on here too. Looks like he had some professional pictures taken of it. I’d love to see more info too, but haven’t seen anything. Seems to be a vac pack though. Wish he’d make one from GB1, lol.

Pretty sure it’s a fiberglass shell, no?

It was scratch made from styrene.

Honestly one of the best builds I had ever seen. I never saved the pictures though and I’m not sure if anyone else did either. The topic on ASAP still exists but the links are all broken.

Yeah I was gonna ask if the build thread was still around, that sucks its dead.

I found a very flat spray paint at menards I bet home depot or maybe even Walmart might have it. Its from Rustoleum and in the camoflauge series. Its non reflective and blends in with the terrian it says. I actually used it on several camo jobs on my old blazer and also on my old pickup. I think it looks very nice.
