Did anyone else see last Saturday’s new episode of “Saturday Night Live”? During the TV Funhouse segment they did a belated Black History Month tribute that featured the token black characters from Saturday morning cartoons. (What would a tribute to token black characters be without Winston!) In the parody, Winston, Franklin (from “Peanuts”) and the black girl from “Josie and the Pussycats” were all teamed up on the same show called “Token Power”, where they performed a song at 1995’s Million Man March. Winston even used his proton pack at one point. The narrator later said the “Token Power” show was quickly cancelled for being “a huge piece of crap”. Did anyone else watch this?

“Saturday Night Live” reruns come on E! and Comedy Central, as well as every 4th week (I think) on your local NBC affiliate during the current season and every Saturday from mid-May to September. If last week’s episode was a ratings success (which I bet it was), you can count on it being rerun sometime in the near future. Natalie Portman was the host, Fall Out Boy was the musical guest, and the “TV Funhouse” segment came on about 1/3 of the way through the show. NBC will rerun the episode on the local affiliates before Comedy Central or E!, so keep your eyes peeled for it on your local NBC station.
The TV Funhouse segment wasn’t all that great IMO, but worth watching just to see Winston finally get some glory (kinda)…
