Yet more introductions

Here we are again folks, another new face in the crowd waving hello. I found this site only recently, though I’ve adored the movies, cartoon, games, and toys since as far back as I can remember. Just by looking around, I have to say how sad I am that I never knew this place existed before. Everyone needs a place where they can go and have a nerd fit over something that they love, and I have been missing this place without even knowing it.

For the longest time since I saw the first movie, I tried and begged my parents to buy the VHS tape so I could own it. I would wake up at 6am on Saturdays just so I could catch The Real Ghostbusters on my TV. There’s a whole history here and I just want to keep it short. I’ll sum it up to say that I love Sci-Fi, Comedy, and even a bit of horror sometimes, and I’ve never seen a film that brings it together so seamlessly and beautifully as all of the movies, shows, and nearly anything (Really bad NES games not included) related to Ghostbusters. I can’t wait to waste hours climbing the Wiki steps and staring at all the Proton Pack builds…they will be mine, oh yes they will…be…mine…

Building a Proton Pack can be daunting, but is obtainable for anyone that puts in the work and effort. If you need any help, feel free to ask.

Welcome to the site!

Welcome Aboard!!!

I guess I may be the only one that actually liked the Nes games. I never beat it, or got very far due to the difficulty. I was just happy to be an 8-bit Ghostbuster. Okay, I will concede that maybe I am looking back fondly on something that was awful, and I might not remember hating it. Who knows, I probably hated it back in the day, and just forgot.

Enjoy looking through the build threads, if you are like me, it will probably turn into watching every video that comes up on a youtube search…all 24 pages…it was awesome

Enjoy, and have fun.

Thomas

Howdy All,

I am a long time reader and first time member. I have already successfully built a proton pack as well as a slime blower and beginning work on slime blower 2.0 this fall. I was interested in joining the community as Me and my good friend Jeff Have started (even though it's just u at the moment) a chapter of Ghostbusters in Las Vegas....

Hello everyone,

Building my first pack. I’m looking for a reputable seller of thrower kits. Any suggestions?

Looking forward to meeting everyone,

Eric

Throwing Chicken makes top notch resin thrower kits.

Hello all, from Toledo OH.

New here, obviously, but not really a lot to tell. I am a huge fan of the Ghostbusters films, obviously, but also of the West End Games RPG…just wish I could find another copy.

Jeffrey

Hello Everyone. I just became a member today.

I joined GBFans because my 2yo son has recently become even more obsessed with ghostbusters than I was as a kid. While looking up GB on pinterest I ran across a video of a guy that built a 1/2 scale Proton Pack for his son. I have decided to take on the same task for my son’s 3rd birthday. I’ve found that this site is the one and only source for info on building Proton Packs

Hello there, fellow Ghostheads!

Another newbie joining the ranks…I’ve lurked here for quite awhile, actually- I finally joined not long ago, and just haven’t gotten around to posting my “official” icebreaker until here and now (my “unofficial” one- my first post- was to Vinny on the ‘For Sale’ page, inquiring as to potential proton pack commission costs.) Back in June of 1984, I was all of ten years old, and my world was forever happily transformed when my best buddy and I went, and saw the film in the theater; to this day, it’s my “forever” film. I love my boys in grey to the ends of this earth, and back again; I’ve admittedly cried more than once over Harold’s passing, and no doubt the same will happen when the others finally leave us.

As to my former “lurker” status, one thread I can fully relate to is the one regarding the dude that calls himself “Ray Stantz” (also “Elwood Blues”, apparently, depending on the social media venue)…as I discussed briefly with Boomerjinks at one point, I was actually Facebook friends for a few months with “Ray”, who finally unfriended and blocked me without notice, but not before leaving a nasty comment on a photo post of mine, and leaving me with no way to respond to it. Believe me, he starts out all friendly, but along the way becomes…I dunno…moody, I’d call it- and just as nasty and threatening as you’ve been told. I still have a bunch of our actual correspondences from those four months, both on posts of mine on my Facebook page (including his snarky parting comment), and our PMs to each other…to say that I’m in no way surprised to learn he’s been banned here and on several other sites is an understatement.

Stoked to finally be an official member of the best ‘Ghostbusters’ fanboard out there…also, welcome to all my fellow newbies!

Welcome to all.

hello to all

thanks harold ramis

i guess i dont have to convince anyone here what the combined intelligence and creative vision of those three guys are capable of…

Hey guy, much like most of you I have been a life long fan of Ghostbusters. I am a film maker from the UK and have produced numerous short films and music videos. Recently myself and a group of friends have made our own DIY remake of Ghostbusters. All the props and costumes are hand made from cardboard and Gaffer tape and all the special effects are done with either cardboard miniatures, or stop motion/hand drawn animation. Originally it was only going to a 60 second film but my enthusiasm for Ghostbusters got the best of of me.

Apologies, I have posted these in the fan film forum, and should have introduced myself first.

Anyway I look forward to spending more time around these parts.

Hey, I’m Rachel. I’m 24 and live in Atlanta and came here because I was told it was full of awesome. Also, my uncle thinks he’s St. Jerome.
