Zephyr1999 Reporting

Hello fellow GB fans! Obviously I’m new to the forum, but a lifelong fan of the Ghostbusters. From the days of having to walk thru my grandmother’s creepy house with my toy proton pack on to today, I’ve been a ghostbuster fan. One of the things I’ve always loved about the franchise is the mixture of humor and fright. As a member of the military and having been a firefighter prior to that, I can greatly appreciate the value of having a sense of humor during a time of great danger or stress. The franchise I feel has always done a great job of this. Anyways aside from the philosophical point of view, one of the things I’ve loved about the franchise has always been the props. I can truly remember seeing the first film and dreaming of owning one myself. This long time wish fueled a love of movie props and eventually led me to prop building of my own. For ghostbusters i took the easier route and bought a proton pack, but have already began work on 2 other packs of my very own. Along with Ghostbusters, as a kid born in 81 I’m a huge fan of a lot of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s sci-fi , horror, and action genre. I often joke that i was inspired to join the military because of G.I. Joe, learned how to properly punch from Chuck Norris, learned about the universe from Star Trek, became fascinated with sharks because of Jaws, and claim Jedi as my religion(the last one is kinda true from a philosophical point of view…i even have it on my dog tags). Having said all of this i guess i can get into the other stuff. Im currently living in Point Pleasant West Virginia, still in the military (Navy), and finishing up my last year of college. I came across the sight a couple of times when researching building my own proton pack and really got interested in the site after hearing Adam Savage talk about the community on an episode of Tested. Anyways i guess that will do it for the intro, Im happy to be here and thankful there is such a large group of dedicated fans of one of the greatest movies ever made. I hope to talk to and meet many of you over time. Take care and thank you again!
