My game pack took some heavy damage from a nasty fall yesterday. So I went out to get more foamcore to make another, then changed my mind. I left hobby lobby and headed to Home Depot, where I picked up 4 sheets of MDF wood. This will be my 1st wooden pack build, so please post any tips you have.

Awesome man, It didn’t take long into my foamcore build to decide I should’ve gone with MDF… By that time I was too far along though to start again. A friend wants to build one when I’m done and we’ll most likely go wood. I’ll be watching this thread for some tips so keep up the good work!

started cutting stuff out, but didnt get much cut before I started making a trap as well.
Wear a breathing mask while cutting that stuff, Nasty nasty gear.

Whats the thickness of the mdf?
my hair filters it out. lol
no kidding, my hair falls in my face as i cut. and my jigsaw blows it away from me anyways.
MDF IS 1/4 INCH

I need to print me some massive bluebrints. They look handy.
my hair is in a tail, but it falls over my shoulder when working. My prints are many pages taped together. XD
good work so far, maybe this thread will spur me back to action on the pack i started back in january [mdf also]. anybody know what size stefans plans have to be printed at to be 1:1?
I took mine into Photoshop, blew the images up, and then printed
do you have it in .psd format by chance? or hell, even the jpgs would be cool.
i dont think mdf counts as wood(its like super pressed super glued super dust). my pack is wood, and its plywood.
you might want to invest in a finish nailer, or a framing stapler(we never called tools their intended name at work, old guys in tools.) or even a brad nailer if you have an air compressor.
also with mdf glue is your best friend, that is, if the majority of your pack is glue. the staples just help the glue hold, the glue actually does all the work.
for curvy parts use thicker wood (work your measurements to compensate) and route or sand the curve.

This pack is done, but I forgot to get pics of the build.
I can’t take pics right now, because shortly after finishing it, I gave it to a friend.
I am underway with my 3rd pack. This time, FIBERGLASS AND RESIN!
