I’m about to start on my first pack (using a mix of mdf, insulation foam, and cardboard most likely), and I was wondering if anyone had full-scale blueprints. I blew up the trap blueprints before I made them and the closest for the proton pack seem to be Stefan’s, so I took the liberty of enlarging the motherboard to full scale for printing… has anyone else done this? If so, are the files available anywhere? If not, does anybody want the full size one I made?
I’m interested in something like this as well! I’ve heard you can do this on Photoshop, a program I own, but I don’t know how to do it. I’d be willing to provide the means if someone can tell me how!
This is a good question. I was trying to do this a few years ago, but I’m not good with computers. Couldnt figure it out and after wasting a few trees worth of paper, I gave up.
Let us know if either of you guys figure this out. I would also love to get full size plans.
Here’s what I’ve done so far. They’re split into sections for margin-less printing on a standard 8.5x11" piece of paper. I figure these are probably the most important parts to have full size prints for anyway.
That’s the tentative plan, depending on how much spare time I have. Some parts don’t really need a full scale blueprint, but I think it’ll help out a lot for stuff with lots of curves like the mobo, spacer, bumper, etc.
Edit: Here’s the ‘cosmetic plating’ (stefan_10.jpg):
I’m concerned about how these were enlarged, because it appears you used the JPG files instead of the PDF copies, the plans when enlarged are terrible quality; blurry and full of artifacts.
I would’ve recommended using the PDF file, as it’s Vector-based the lines would always remain smooth and crisp.
I was thinking about doing it that way, but I figured this would be easy enough. It’s a little fuzzy, but the measurements are from where the black outline ends to the other side, etc. I’ll give it a shot with the PDF copies and see how it turns out.
When I went to print these out today I noticed a pretty large problem… not very many printers can print with 0" margins. So I’m working on re-doing these with a .5" margin… places like Kinkos and such should be able to handle printing with a 0" margin if you’re in a hurry to get these printed off though…
This, trying to find them locally is a pain in the ass,so if we could get a full scale template of them then it would make it a whole hell of alot easier.
