1 prop done now onto betterthings.....

So finally got the slimeblower finished, now to move onto the goggles. I know the frames are not correct but for the first set I think these will do just fine with a little mods to them.

Now the first thing i noticed that will get changed is to cut the tabs off the side for the lift faceplate, and also to remove the hinges for the lift faceplate. Then to glue and seal that part. I like the way it extends it out but dont like the lift part.

Any suggestions welcome!!!

Well after a lil modifying and sanding things are looking a little bit better…

Also sanded down the frame work and currently sitting in a nice hot soapy bath…

Well didnt like the looks of the insulated bushings…

So with a little modification, I gave the bushings just a little more of a machined look…

Sorry for the crappy images camera is all messed up…

Goggles primed and painted… The presanding and hot bath really helped with the “stickys”.

Well for the most part finished, need a couple knobs and a headstrap but all in all not to bad of a project…

Well after a few days the paint is just how do I say… HORRIBLY WET. So today im trying a little experiment to see just how this works.

Yeah, painting vinyl really sucks, the ones I made still feel weird. If you happen to have a welding shop in Ottumwa, they might have hard plastic welding goggles which work great, I got a pair and they were awesome to work with.

And lights make everything that much more awesome.

Well finally for the million… And million… of rennys fans… Sorry always wanted to do that… Anyways finally got the vinyl painting figured out.

First I started off with about 20 coats of primer for a good base.

Then ProtonCharger had some great (common sense advice) for someone else for painting a trap and I thought this application would need this idea

(minus the color scheme for a trap)

It worked wonders, no “stickys” no tacky just plain dry and does not wear off.

Figured I would get photos up of my son sporting the new goggles… Second generation has begun!!!
