2014 Reimagining.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Guys and Ghouls!

30 years now. 30 years, even purists can acquiesce to the fact that times have changed. So… who has art work, custom suits, packs etc that they’d like to show off? Where are my Photoshop Phenoms who can put their imagination to bits and bytes?

Its all over these forums.

To see, one has only to look.

I should look harder then. I checked out fan art and such. Ill get back to looking then, thanks Gareee

I did this one a couple of weeks ago, in honor of the 30th Anniversary Screening of the Ghostbusters movie possibly doing better in theaters than the new Sin City movie…

I’m loving it man

The vast majority of my recent artistic efforts have been devoted to crafting a logical, modern evolution of Ghostbusters. 30 years since it’s inception, you have to imagine that things have changed. Changes in gear, changes in uniforms, new characters, vehicels, the way they operate, everything. What the guys started back in 1984, will always be the heart and soul of GB. But, its 2014!

I’m currently participating in the “inktober” challenge, creating an ink drawing for everyday of october. My theme throughout all the images is Ghostbusters, but a modern view. One that shows them fully adopted as a civil service/emergency responsder alongside fire fighters, cops, EMTs, etc. Over 30 years, they’ve taught people not to be afraid of ghosts. Terrorizing people used to be a piece of cake for ghosts. Now they’re lucky if they can make people jump. So they scare harder. They fight back more, like a virus trying to outgrow it’s treatment. The treatment has to step up. It’s become necessary to have ghostbusters woven in as part of the public infrastructure. Ray, Peter, and Winston are developing new methods and technology in a lab somewhere, while each city has a GB station run like a detective and csi unit police precinct.

So I’ve got about 7 days of that under my belt, and I’m actually getting ready to shoot a short concept film that I plan to do some big stuff with… (;

Keep an eye out for that, and you can check out the “inktober” art (along with other modern GB pieces) in my art thread here on gbfans, or on my Instagram or Twitter, @johnyurcaba4 !

Very nice. You did a great job on this.
