Hi all!
I only reccomend items that i have personally used. I am using a CD/MP3 player for my Proton pack sound FX. I took the mp3 (see elsewhere where to get the sounds on the web) and stretched it out to an hour, then burned it on a CD. The sound wasn’t that great, as it came out of two computer speakers. I searched ebay, and found a guy in NC who makes amps really cheap! I got mine for about $20 including shipping. It works great, and the circuit board is about as big as a 9v battery (I put mine in a breath mint tin, and there’s room for the 9v and the amp). Here is his store name: WalkingWolf Amps&Stuff on ebay. You can hear the pack noise from a few feet away. I was going to link the wand with the pack and run it through the amp, but it just cut the sound in half, sounded staticy, and you couldn’t hear the wand MP3 anyway. My wand has earbud headphones for speakers, and I didn’t want the amp to blow them. Well, maybe I’ll get an amp and speakers for the wand next year (I’m over budget and in enough trouble with the missus as it is) : )
Nobody ever thanked you for the great suggestion! Thanks a lot and I hope those who need help with this issue find this easily.
You’re welcome! I’m waiting for a set of amplified speakers I got from ebay. (I hope they get here before Halloween). I’ll test 'em, and let you know how they work.
Awesome, what brand are they?
i believe its panasonic that makes portable speakers with a portable power amp, I have them for my pack, can easily be heard from 6-10 feet away, i used a voice recorder/ Mp3 players for my sounds
That really is a great idea, thank you. I found a great little preamp from Walmart and the plug is just a regular stereo headphone plug so it works great with my mp3 player. Walmart has about three more of these where I live and they are on clearance for only $5.00. They were designed for the ‘FLY PENTOP COMPUTER.’
