Agent Scully wants to be a Ghostbuster?

Apparently so…

When asked if she’d consider joining the all-female Ghostbusters line-up, Anderson wasted no time in excitedly pleading for a chance to star in the movie.

She sounds pretty excited at the idea…

Could be an amusing casting… Scully leaves the FBI, and becomes a ghostbuster… sounds totally legit to me lol

She’s got my vote!

bit of a sad time for Mulder… she never believed him, but now she’s ready to believe YOU! lol

as much as I hate the idea of an all female cast, I am obsessed with Dana Scully/Gillian and would probably see it just for her.

Gillian Anderson playing the grown up daughter of Janine and Louis… oh god, i can’t get the image out of my head now lol

Talk about an injoke folding in on itself…

For those who don’t know, about two years ago the IDW Ghostbusters comic had a story with characters who were mild X-Files in-jokes, Jim Savage and Melanie Ortiz.

Then in Vol.2 of the comic, Ortiz becomes a Ghostbuster.

In the slim chance this happens, Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening aren’t just great stroytellers, they’re prophets.

didn’t actually put that together until you pointed it out Fritz… nice

At least with Scully, she played the brains that I think is probably the most equated to Egon just in language. Not to riff on her other character, but she would be a shoe in for that kind of role. This is how you take the female idea down the right path.

yeah, i could picture Anderson playing the brains of the new team… that’d work well

Really, gang? And I thought Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy were a bit long in the tooth to jump start a franchise…

Scully would be good. Just like Ortiz in the IDW Comics.

Re-boot----still a bad idea.

I’d give her the Gregory Peck role. She’d be the blowhard agent from the ill-defined shadowy government organization who makes life hard for the heroes while also being funny.

Plus this time the “dickless” joke would be literal. :walterpeck:

That’s the good news about this new film: because every actress in Hollywood is going to want to be in the movie, Paul Fieg is going to be able to assemble any cast he could possibly want. He can have his pick.

Harold Ramis was 40, Bill Murray was 34, Dan Akroyd was 32. They were all playing post-docs who had spent an undetermined amount of time in advanced acadamia.

Wiig is 41 and McCarthy is 44. Provided they don’t try and claim these women are college students or something like that, they’ll be fine. And you can start of a new business at any age.

I’m for it!

In this economy? We arent talking home photography and cupcakes here.

I’d much rather see her in a cameo role as Agent Scully whom happens to cross paths with the Ghostbusters at some point during an investigation, but not as an integral character that would take away from the story. It’s hard to imagine Gillian Anderson as anything but Agent Scully. What else is she known for? She and “Spooky” Mulder are iconic characters in the genre of paranormal fiction. It would make more sense than Cheech and Chong’s cameo in GB2.

Sounds interesting since she is one of my boyhood crushes and would make a good female gB
