okay i got 2 questions.this is my first pack and im ignorent on some things.alice packs come in small, medium and large.which size do i need?
my second question is at what stage should i attach the alice pack to the frame?like how much of it should i construct before mounting the frame?the eda box, power cell,and the cyclotron are on the board.any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 
Hey, actually the frame is the same size it’s the canvas pack that is s/m/l in size. There are lots of sellers on Ebay and you should be able to get one for under $20.
The ALICE frame itself is only one size…it is the pack size that differs. You want to look for the LC-2 version of the ALICE frame. The frame should not cost more than $30. eBay has a bunch at good prices (just make sure they are complete!) or Cheaper Than Dirt has some. Try local MilSurplus stores as well.
Attaching methods can be found here via the search tab or over at Proptopia.com. Ken (Volguus) posted a great method over at Proptopia.com. If you can’t find it or need more help just post again and I’ll see what’s stickin’ to the fly paper.

I know this wasn’t directed at me, but I tried searching through proptopia and looking through Volguus’s posts and couldn’t find it. If you happen to have a link or have it saved or something, that would really help me out. I’m just about at the point on my pack where this would come in very handy

I would not trust zipties.
I would just use the same bolt method on the slots as on the top part of the frame.
Also.. how would you get the correct spacing by just using zip ties?
Hardware stores sell spacers for the bolts.
I want to drill two holes in the mid-horizontal bar. I tried my power drill… it hardly made a scratch. Any advice?
Start with a 1/8" drill bit and work your way up from there to whatever size you need.
Also, make sure your drill bits are sharp. If they’re dull (rounded with no point) they’ll just spin around on you.
That’s exactly what I tried… perhaps I didn’t put enough effort in… or my drill sucks. The drill bits are new so they’re nice and sharp. Gotta be patient I guess.
