All Done! Photos added

Hi all, I need help quick. I have one week to finish my pack and am stumped at what to use for the hanging device to hang the wand to the pack. I am in Melbourne and need something asap. If anyone has any ideas where to get something, please let me know. I went to Bunnings but they were hopeless. Thanks, Dave.

Well, if you don’t think you can get a Dixie hook set from MMM or AJ, or a V-Hook from momeraths24, down there within a week, then why not try a hook and I bolt? It definately won’t look as nice, but it’s cheap and easy to find…and would be good as a temporary fix.

or hang your wand from your belt the whole time

cool guys, thanks for the input. Will definatly take it on board, Thanks.

There are also male and female track hooks you can get at lowes or even walmart. They are used to hang stuff like brooms and other household items. Some them come with other parts you may have to cut off but they work the same way as the V hook. My suggestion though would be the dixie hook or the Machined V-hook.

I can make you one…

Thanks guys for all of your help. I have only 5 days to get it finished so I might have a go at it myself. Thanks, Dave.

I got a 2 inch wide piece of aluminum from a hardware store and cut it with a dremel tool to replicate the movie hook. I clamped that to a piece of sheet metal and bent the ends around it. After I cut the edges to fit I drilled holes, counter sinked them, and screwed them to the wand and pack respectively.

It’s really easy, just make sure you grind the screw heads down a bit after installing them so they don’t hook together and keep the wand from coming out.

Ouch, a dremel to cut aluminum?, a hack saw cuts it at least twice as fast.

Hi all, thanks for all of your suggestions. I finally got my butt into gear and just made my own V bracket which works quite well. Pretty well finished just in time for the costume party tonight. I started four weeks ago and I honestly didnt think it would take this long. I also was going to strap a cardboard box tho my back, but making a scale copy was pretty cool fun though.

Here are some pics of the final product. Its about 95% complete. Ran out of time but still looked the goods. I even won best costume at the party with the entire crowd chanting…GHOSTBUSTERS, GHOSTBUSTERS. It was quite embarassing.

This is me with my daughter as Tracey from Hairspray

is that the official GB bottle opener?

Not that I am aware of, but it sure came in handy on the night.
