what is the size of the head on the allen bolts used on the HGA,ribbon clamp, and to fix the booster frame to the booster (im guessing they are all the same type of fitting?)
They are 1/4" Allen bolts aka Socket head cap screws (according to the plans) http://www.gbfans.com/image.php?url=/images/equipment/plans/stefan_8.jpg
Some use #10 as the 1/4" look big but I guess thats up to the individual.
And you wonder why people have inaccuracy with the ribbon clamp?
**HGA is 1/4" (as in 1/4-20)
Booster Frame is #10 (as in 10-24)
Ribbon Clamp is #10
Ion Arm Block is #10**
The reason I want these questions cleared is that the diameters of these screws are a industry standard. When measured against Hero Pack photos we can obtain other information, such as the length and width of other objects. When the wrong cap screw is used on these parts, items don’t look right or other adjustments are made to make the parts larger than they should be.

What sizes are used to hold the resistors on? I went to lowes today and they fucking suck. didnt have anything that fit the resistors nor did they have m10. kinda pissed…
Not M10 (metric) but rather #10 it’s a US size designation…
Also because of the belief that the common clamp size has been wrong all this time, it now appears that the screws on the clamp are probably #8 now as it scales better…
Lowes, Home Depot and Menards should all carry them in the specialty bins… But you will most likely have a better selection at an ACE or True Value…
shit i read that as m10 for some reason. oh well. the shell isnt in yet so it doesnt matter. should be in next week. usps already has it in their system.
ace hardware has them in every size usually about 30 cents a piece
hope that helps
not really because I dont think that I have ever seen an ace hardware. But do they have the size needed for the resistors?
The sure do, that’s where I got them for my resistors on my packs.
