I scratch built a Proton Pack from wood ages ago when I used to post on the old ASAP site. Much later I sold it in what was probably the worst mistake of my life. .
Got curious in what is happening in the world of GB and came here. I simply can’t believe what is available in both resources and information these days. Truly unreal.

Well since no one said “Hi” back, I thought I would post some pics of my old pack… Remember, this was built YEARS ago out of wood, blood, sweat, and tears… so no hand slapping please. 
The tip popped out when the handle turned. The handle had a spring-and-ball-resistance locking mechanism to keep it down. You could twist it up with a little pressure. The tip and metal bits were crafted by hand and welded on-site. Not many out there for sale that I can recall.
Had a local guy do the lights and sound. Back then it was very hard to find someone doing it commercially.
Again, forgive some of the inaccuracies. Back then we had like two sets of photos to go by, and did a LOT of scaled up large format printing to determine sizes in relation to known items.

Sure I’ll say Hi too. I built my first pack out of wood. Had to build it in less than two weeks. Had a lot of missing details but it still looked great!
Starting a new one with styrene with no time limit. Take your time=a awesome pack!
