Hey guys mostly post on the RPF and the BOTB same name. I mainly make IronMan and Batman related props, screen accurate and 3D prints as of late.
Thought it was time to build something for me and Proton Pack was first on the “To Do” list. 
Hope to get it right and as accurate as my budget will allow.

My recommendation, start with Protonchargers pep file for measurements. They are pretty accurate and user friendly. But I am a bit bias.

I guess I should have said I wont be making my own pack, as in my own build but putting one together out of bought parts. I just don’t have time to invest in building my own masters and molding. Have 2 Full IronMan suits builds which are being molded 1 I have 14 copies to make. As well as 3 Batman suits on the go, and various other helmets/cowls etc. But thanks for the link.
I’m not biased, so I’ll advise you to start with the actual props and take your own measurements from the abundance of reference pictures available.
Using plans/dimensions created by someone else will only lead you down a very frustrating path if you are seeking accuracy.
However, since you said that you are not building your own, that point is moot (for you).
That being said, I suppose you need to establish a budget for yourself, check the feedback ratings on this site, and make an educated decision on which pack is the most suitable for your own personal needs.
Most of the plans out there are really close. I wouldn’t put down the people that worked so hard to create them in the first place.
Afterall. Most of the plans that are available were done at a time when there weren’t as many reference photos as there are today.
I’m sure that some are really close, but close isn’t good enough for some.
Mistakes are made, measurements are rounded up or down for convenience, and some dimensions are intentionally changed for whatever reason.
All I’m saying is that you can’t trust everything that is out there.

Real quick, I would like to take the time to be serious, steer back on topic, and offer more detailed advice. I feel responsible for its current direction.
Narrow down your scope of what projects you want to complete. Don’t try to complete it all at once. Assuming you want to do a pack and gun first. Thank Jackdoud for that thread. (All hail Jackdoud!)
Have a plan. (What is your goal?). There are multiple choices. Do you want lights and sound? GB1 pack or GB2 pack? OMNI pack. Sony pack. Game pack. Have a timeframe. Multiply it by 2 for a minimum.
Research. Find reference photos. Create a specific file folder to place the photos in. You will need them close at hand. The same for blueprints or plans.
Need parts? First goto the feedback section. Read the blacklisted sellers. Read it. Read it again.
GBfans.com shop is fantastic. If it has it in stock, grab it. Then, get on the mailing list, and you will be notified when its back in stock. The For Sale forum is also great resource. This is where the feedback section comes into play. I would not use ebay as a main source, UNLESS its a seller in the For Sale forum and the user name is listed with their post. But I would stick mainly to the forum. You may end up collecting parts for a couple of months, and you may end up with duplicates.
I may have left something out. But hopefully it will give you a good start.

Budget I was hoping to stay under $1600-1800ish for the full pack and lights/sound.
Doing a GB1 pack not sure the difference between the Sony and Omni I’ll have to look into that.
No time frame at all, when it gets done it’ll be done.

I just started collecting parts in the last 2 weeks so that is as far as I have got so far.
Hoping to get in on a few of the runs for the screen accurate parts ect that are goin on in the Sales section just needed to research a bit more figure out what I need.
I’ll be doing my own knobs and metal parts since I have a mill and lathe as well as just in the process of getting my new tig all set up, hope int he next month or so.

I know that you are not new to Prop building. that’s why I didn’t spoon feed you on how to build a prop/costume and cut right to the chase.
