anyone know how to remove this label off the elbow pads?

with and exacto knife.

when you dye them you could always give them a good boil with the dye and that will help. I would wash them right after you dye them this helps give that faded look. After washing a couple times combined with the boiling that should loosen the lettering up enough that you can just peal it off.

almost forgot they look great where did you get them at?

thanks for all the advice.. i got them here gEkX

Century Judo Kneepads are better. the small logo on them is much much easier to remove than the spectrum brand and they dont have the hole on the inner armband.

the most accurate size is youth but unless you have a skinny arm, they will be a bit tight.

I think I got the Spectrum ones a while ago. I had to x-acto off the logos. They updated their picture because when I ordered them, the preview image had no logo and I was kinda ■■■■■■ the ones I got weren’t blank, but whatever. If these are the same ones I’m thinking of, they also have a hole in the bend which I had to cover with black elastic.

Another trick you can do is take a brown paper bag (cut into bits) and an iron and place a piece of the bag over the LOGO and heat with iron. Repeat many times and the logo will start to fade away. I then used ACID TONE (nail polish remover) to remove\fade even more. I dyed the pads and had a hard time to see the logo at all.

I will use the boil trick to the next pair

Acidtone.. Underground Metal Band.

Acetone.. CH 3 COCH 3, organic solvent.

LOL…

ya what he said.

you could try the underground metal band… it might work too?

I think you’d need the full power of an above-ground metal band to be really effective here. Something with Dave Mustaine, perhaps.

I did the boil/dye method and then used auto interior spray pain (the closest gray to screen caps I could find) to airbrush the pads. Its impossible to see unless you stare at it under light

I used an exacto knife before I dyed mine. It worked REALLY well.

thanks everyone.. the fiance actually got it off for me and i dyed them.. pics on my profile!!!

I thought the adult size were the accurate ones?

I found an exacto knife the best bet, I have a full write up here with step by step pictures.

Ok, since this is a related article to what I posted just now, and you guys seem to know a little something. I have these pads: http://www.mcdavidusa.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=146&DEPARTMENT_ID=238

What is the easiest way to remove the vinyl logo that is on them? Could I use heat/steam or something? I can’t get the adhesive or whatever it is to give way, and I cut the pad a little bit trying to use a razorblade… Thanks for any suggestions.

Nevermind. Answered my own question with my question. Heat/Steam, and an awesome Iron to do it with. Takes the sticky vinyl logos off pretty decently. Just leaves behind a slight outline, and i’m in the process of fixing that, hopefully in a load of laundry. But put it on a cotton setting, have plenty of water to spray on the sticker logo stuff, and cook them away! Yay!
