I am incredibly incompetent when it comes to electronics. I am worried that I will fuck this up somehow. I’ve already bought everything and am going over the instructions now. My question is on a scale from 1-10, 10 being MIT tough- how hard/easy is this installation?

I am very new to modding and I did not have any trouble with putting his light kit in. He does a very good laying out instructions step by step and showing what it looks like before and after. Even if you make a mistake, it's usually going to be something a little glue can fix. I thought it would take me a month or more to install all of the kits I bought from him, but at this point I'm almost done in a little over a week.
Specifically concerning the light kit, when you add the red cups to the LED chip, it is a little hard to get a little peg into the hole. I actually snapped on of these little pegs off. I was able to fix this by adding just a little bit of hot glue to make sure the cup wasn’t completely loose. The cup was only wiggling a little bit without the peg and the glue does the job without interfering. Hope this helps.

I’m looking into how to mount the Alice frame to it. This forum and youtube are helping tremendously.
Now it’s looking like the Alice frame is going to be in the way of the battery pack once I mount the proton pack. Shit.
I don’t know how you are trying connect your Alice frame, but in most cases you can still get your hand in there to turn it on. Also, you do something better than zip ties, you could add spacers so that the motherboard is not up against the Alice Pack. Spongeface also sells brackets at Ghostlab42 on Ebay. Tha may do the trick for you. Also.. you could consider moving the battery and using velcro make sure it doesn’t slide around. Part of modding is learning how to problem solve. I hope you have fun doing it!

Thanks, yeah I’ve never done anything like this and the problem solving was a hassle at first but now I’m gaining an appreciation for it and the work it requires. I was gonna do zip ties at first but now I’m looking at brackets. I’ve spent a fortune this last month getting everything together for Halloween so at this point I’m going cost effective.
There is nothing wrong with zip ties and this is the most common way to attach a Spirit Pack. If you are able to find a way to make your own brackets. I would try to find a way add spacers (plastic tubs between the alice frame and proton pack. Makes the pack look a little more beefy. It also looks nice if you make sure the pack sits a little high on frame so that when pple look at you from the front, the top of the pack is a little higher than your shoulders. I haven’t even gotten to the point yet, but they look really nice that way.
I plan on zipping it on the frame higher so it does show up over my shoulders.
