here’s a weird oddity…But might be an HD mastering error. Watch the feed from HDNet. The boys are just exiting the building as the crowd cheers. The top of Egon and Ray’s hair looks like it’s blurring out…almost like they where filmed in blue screen and added in later. None of the others seem to suffer from this.
Noticing potential weird stuff like this is what makes movie rewatching so much fun

I tried too, but it doesn’t come through… maybe it has to do with the statue being added in later…but the statue is clear of artifacts, ray and egon arn’t…
Maybe its just a digital compression error from when they made the digital copy. Heck it could even be from your connection or decoding hardware.

Yeah, I know the shot you’re talking about. It’s as their heads cross in front of Liberty lying on her back. I think if they’d had some bluescreen on-set at the time, it probably wouldn’t look as bad as it does. I bet they shot the plate with nothing there, and someone had to hand-roto out their heads and paste them back over the prone Statue. The contrast can get kind of wonky on composites like that. It’s probably always been there, but I can check a VHS copy if you want. I think I still have a widescreen VHS version, I had to special-order it.
