I just picked up Brutal Legend for the X Box 360 and I was quite impressed with this newest addition to Tim Schafer’s long line of games.. (Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Psychonauts etc). I’m not normally a big fan of Jack Black.. truthfully I find him to be a ■■■■■■■.
But he did a wonderful job in the voice over work in this game.. likewise.. Ozzy Osbourne’s cameo was great! I was expecting to not be able to understand a word he said.. but surprisingly he seemed to enunciate words instead of mumble them incoherently.
Has anybody else tried Brutal Legend yet? And if so, what are your thoughts on the game? Was it everything you expected, or were you expecting more?
I’m part way into it on PS3.I also agree on your Jack Black assessment.I can’t stand him 99.9% of the time but he’s not bad in this.Everyhting about the world fits and feels like a heavy metal world should feel like.Outstanding.Lots of freedom to explore and side missions are a neat diversion.Did you race Fletus yet?Does he or does he not remind you of Brian Johnson from AC/DC.Really cool game concept and worth checking out.
He does.. also.. there are a lot of cameo appearances I noticed.. by people who aren’t even heavy metal band members (at least, to the best of my knowledge) – like Brian Posehn.. Quite a unique game in that regard.. and the animation is very fluid and very well rendered.
