Would a cake pan 9" dia by 3"deep be ideal for a cyclotron? If not what’s the ideal size
Ok taken those schematics into account thanks
No prob. The rest are in the Equipment section (Stefan’s Plans). Just keep in mind a few minor details have been discovered on screen used packs that differ from Stefan’s plans, but it’s a great place to start. I built my first pack using them. ![]()
Watch the side of the pans also. Some out there have a slight slope to them. You want straight up and down sides.
Yes, that too! I opted for a slightly smaller sloped edge pan and a contoured trim to go around it for my cyclotron as I wanted a lightly different look for mine (and the pan was cheap. :D).
(excuse the mess)
But if I had it to do again, I’d probably have contructed the cyclotron to look a bit more accurate by using a non-sloped pan..
I picked up four aluminum pans with a slope in them for a $1 at a yard sale. I figured they might work good for stunt packs or kid packs one day.
I bought a cake pan at Michaels, that was the perfect size and shape. It was $16 but I had a 40% off coupon. Cutting holes in it was a pain. Think it is made by Duff Goldman.
Here it is
ive decided to buy a cheap ready made cyclotron, looking for a cake pan the right size from the uk is really hard and tbh i dont have the patience to drill into metal lol plus a plant pot thing isnt an option
